It's Caturday!

There are some things for which the death penalty is not quite appropriate... but "an eye for an eye" would be.

Cat Covered In Yolk, Stuck In Refrigerator
Police Say Previous Resident Could've Been Targeted

Reported By Jonathan Martin
WSMV-TV

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Jon Watts moved to Murfreesboro from Florida a month ago -- not enough time, he said, to have an enemy.

But when he walked into his apartment Sunday on north Church Street, he saw something cruel and about as scary as the stuff he reads about in his Steven King novels.

"I opened the fridge, and the cat's in there just flipping out, freezing," Watts said.

His cat had been thrown in the refrigerator, covered in egg yolk.

There's more in the original story, linked in the headline above. And the video story here. Still

"Outlaw" Bikers Rescue Orphaned Kittens
By Intern Katy, 10:45 AM on Thu Jan 8 2009

A group of tattooed bikers rescued 180 stranded kittens yesterday afternoon, as part of their ‘in your face’ approach to animal rights activism. They call themselves Rescue Ink.

The cats were all living in a single house in Moriches, New York, that is currently facing foreclosure. When the bikers heard about the soon-to-be homeless cats, they rushed to the scene. Today they begin the task of rescuing and rehabilitating the 180 felines, a job that will take about a week. In their mission statement, they profess their dedication to protecting animal rights: "We will stop at nothing within the bounds of the law to protect animals at risk. We will intercede without hesitation when we are informed of a situation that needs to be addressed, and we will address it. If we need to convince people to do the right thing ... we can be very convincing, we'll even buy animals if that's what it takes to get them away from abusers."

Again, it's not really Caturday, but let's get a jump on the weekend... k?

NOTASULGA, AL: Residents of the tiny Alabama town of Notasulga are rallying around a local fixture after his eviction from the post office. "Sammy" the cat was banned from the building after someone wrote in to complain about the cat's presence.

"They said 'This is a federal building and he doesn't pay federal taxes so he can't come in'," said postal worker Rochelle Langford.

Before his banishment Sammy spent most of his time lounging in the post office's window. Sammy's supporters think they've found a way to move him safely back in. They've rented a P.O. Box in his name.

Post office workers say they'll allow Sammy back in, but will try to keep him out of the way of customers.

Some people are so mean. I think every business should have their own mascot!!

Not only mean but stupid!

And they of course never read a book of Rita Mae Brown...:rolleyes:

I wanted to like Rita Mae Brown books. I love the titles and art work but alas I don't enjoy the books. I do love the Cat Who series.
