Does any song express the joy of Springtime better than this one?

Centerfield by John Fogerty

Well, beat the drum and hold the phone - the sun came out today!
We're born again, there's new grass on the field.
A-roundin' third, and headed for home, it's a brown-eyed handsome man;
Anyone can understand the way I feel.

Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be Centerfield.

Well, I spent some time in the Mudville Nine, watchin' it from the bench;
You know I took some lumps when the Mighty Casey struck out.
So Say Hey Willie, tell Ty Cobb and Joe DiMaggio;
Don't say "it ain't so", you know the time is now.

Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be Centerfield.

Yeah! I got it, I got it!

Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes;
You know I think it's time to give this game a ride.

Just to hit the ball and touch 'em all - a moment in the sun;
(pop) It's gone and you can tell that one goodbye!

Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be Centerfield.

Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be Centerfield.

Yeah!

Talkin' baseball

This one evokes the same feelings in me as Centerfield

The whiz kids had won it,
Bobby Thomson had done it,
And Yogi read the comics all the while.
Rock 'n roll was being born,
Marijuana, we would scorn,
So down on the corner,
The national past-time went on trial.

Refrain:
We're talkin' baseball!
Kluzuski, Campanella.
Talkin' baseball!
The Man and Bobby Feller.
The Scooter, the Barber, and the Newc,
They knew them all from Boston to Dubuque.
Especially Willie, Mickey, and the Duke.

Well , Casey was winning,
Hank Aaron was beginning,
One Robbie going out, one coming in.
Kiner and Midget Gaedel,
The Thumper and Mel Parnell,
And Ike was the only one winning down in Washington.

Refrain:

Now my old friend, The Bachelor,
I wonder how he did.
Well, he swore he was the Oklahoma Kid.
And Cookie played hooky,
To go and see the Duke.
And me, I always loved Willie Mays,
Man, those were the days!

Refrain:

Well, now it's the 80's,
And Brett is the greatest,
And Bobby Bonds can play for everyone.
Rose is at the Vet,
And Rusty again is a Met,
And Alexander's pitchin' baseballs in Washington.

I'm talkin' baseball!
Like Reggie, Quisenberry.
Talkin' baseball!
Carew and Gaylord Perry,
Seaver, Tommy John and Vida Blue,
If Cooperstown is calling, it's no fluke.
They'll be with Willie, Mickey, and the Duke.
Willie, Mickey, and the Duke. (Say hey, say hey, say hey)
It was Willie, Mickey and the Duke (Say hey, say hey, say hey)
I'm talkin' Willie, Mickey and the Duke (Say hey, say hey, say hey)

Agent 99! Damn, I haven't heard that one in years.

But this song always says "Spring" to me:

Sugar Magnolia | The Grateful Dead

Sugar magnolia, blossoms blooming,
heads all empty and I don't care,
Saw my baby down by the river,
knew she'd have to come up soon for air.

Sweet blossom come on, under the willow,
we can have high times if you'll abide
We can discover the wonders of nature,
rolling in the rushes down by the riverside.

She's got everything delightful,
she's got everything I need,
Takes the wheel when I'm seeing double,
pays my ticket when I speed

She comes skimmin' through rays of violet,
she can wade in a drop of dew,
She don't come and I don't follow,
waits backstage while I sing to you.

Well, she can dance a Cajun rhythm,
jump like a willys in four wheel drive.
She's a summer love for spring, fall and winter.
She can make happy any man alive.

Sugar magnolia, ringing that bluebell,
caught up in sunlight, come on out singing
I'll walk you in the sunshine, come on honey,
come along with me.

She's got everything delightful,
she's got everything I need,
A breeze in the pines and the sun and bright moonlight,
lazing in the sunshine yes indeed.

Sometimes when the cuckoo's crying,
when the moon is half way down,
Sometimes when the night is dying,
I take me out and I wander around, I wander 'round.

Sunshine, daydream, walking in the tall trees,
going where the wind goes
Blooming like a red rose, breathing more freely,
Ride our singin', I'll walk you in the morning sunshine
Sunshine, daydream. Sunshine, daydream.
Walking in the sunshine.

I can't wait until Little League starts!! I love watching my son play and going to games of the other kids that I know, cheering and screaming them on.

this isn't a typical Springtime song but everytime I hear it I'll start dancing around in my seat and it makes me think of Spring/Summertime.

Walking On Sunshine
Katrina And The Waves

I used to think maybe you loved me, now baby I'm sure
And I just can't wait ‘til the day, when you knock on my door
Now everytime I go for the mailbox, gotta hold myself down
‘Cause I just can't wait till you write me, you're comin' around

Now I'm walking on sunshine (whoa oh)
I'm walking on sunshine (whoa oh)
I'm walking on sunshine (whoa oh)
And don't it feel good, hey, all right now, and don't it feel good, hey, yeah

I used to think maybe you loved me, now I know that it's true
And I don't wanna spend my whole life, just a waitin' for you
Now I don't want you back for the weekend, not back for a day, no-no-no
I said baby I just want you back, and I want you to stay

Oh yeah...Now I'm walking on sunshine (whoa oh)
I'm walking on sunshine (whoa oh)
I'm walking on sunshine (whoa oh)
And don't it feel good, hey, all right now, and don't it feel good, hey, yeah
Oh yeah, and don't it feel good

guitar solo

Walkin' on sunshine...walkin' on sunshine...yeah

I fell alive, I feel a love, I feel a love that's really real
I fell alive, I feel a love, I feel a love that's really real
I'm on sunshine baby, oh, oh yeah, I'm on sunshine baby, oh
I'm walkin' on sunshine (whoa oh )
I'm walkin' on sunshine (whoa oh )
I'm walkin' on sunshine (whoa oh )

And don't it feel good, hey, all right now
And don't it feel good, I say it, say it, say it again, now
And don't it feel good, hey, yeah now
And don't it feel good, now don't it, don't it, don't it, don't it , don't it
Don't it feel good, I say it, I say it, I say it again, now
And don't it feel good, don't it, don't it, don't it (vamp out)

Yeah!

I read this and the first thing I thought was I could one up you with a better choice. Nope , I'm at a loss. What a fun pleasant song. It's a campfire song. It's the first time I've ever read it , and I like it more....:)

Well, Mr. Burns had done it
The power plant had won it
With Roger Clemens clucking all the way
Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us all smile
While Wade Boggs lies unconscious on the bathroom tile

We're talkin' softball,
from Maine to San Diego,
talkin' softball
Mattingly and Conseco,
Ken Griffy's grotesquely swollen jaw
Steve Sax and his run-in with the law
We're talkin' Homer, Ozzie and the Straw

And Fogerty has the perfect voice to sing it . Never thought of it as a campfire song but it could work.
