well..after i shave it doesnt usually itch....but a few times it did and i rubed some lotion onto it and the itch went away lol.

I know it's not manly to buy-but there is an anti-chaffing and anti-itch powder gel called Intimate Care Itch Relief Spray by Soothing Care that works wonders!! You have to go to the aisle where condoms and feminine care products are. Its in a purple box. It's about $8. I use mine after Nair-ing my kitty. (BTW doesn't it feel so sexy to be hairless between your legs! Damn I'm horny!)

It is sexy to buy lube though and that works well to IMO. The guy at the counter has to be thinking what you need that for. *winks*

Hydrocortisone cream can work very well. Big tubes are dirt cheap at places like Costco. Try applying it after you shave as well.

I've heard deoderant/anti-perspirant can also soothe, keep it dry, and combat itching and irritation. I haven't tried it, but if I did, I'd get something like unscented Sure.

If you want anti-itch powder, you don't need to buy a feminine product at all. Just get some Gold Bond (or generic brand).

If you're not too irritated, KEEP SHAVING DAILY. This is the best solution I've found, and now that I've been doing it for a while, I don't itch at all, even when I skip several-many days.

Don't Use Cortisone!

It is scientifically proven that Cortisone cream usage can permanently thin your skin out with unsupervised and continuous use! Not good for this area at all! Plus you should always check with your doctor before applying prescription only drugs to this area!!!

Aloe Vera works absolute wonders after waxing or shaving. Use from the plant or buy a tube. It is waterbased and completely natural and won't stain your clothes, plus it washes off easily (if needed). This is my tried and true method after waxing, If you're really desperate a weak solution of white vinegar and water (70:30) works wonders.

Hope it helps!

Also

Once your skin gets used to shaving down there it gets less itchy - I promise!

Waxing is better if you can stand it!

Um....cortisone cream is NOT a prescription drug.

A VERY low-strength (1%) hydrocortisone formula is available over the counter in the US. I wasn't suggesting people slather it on every chance they get, but it's perfectly safe and effective for occasional irritation and itching. My husband uses a very strong topical corticosteroid for psoriasis, and that type definitely can thin the skin with longer-term use. 1% hydrocortisone is in a completely different ballpark, side effects are extremely rare, and it's even safe for children.

I guess it's SUPER rare for a guy to not itch after shaving. I shave my 2 veggies, and they never itch, but the rest is just trimmed nealty.

Its prescription only in Australia - I guess we're a little stricter.

Given the heavy metals, minerals and chemicals most women apply to their skin I suppose it's not going to hurt adding another one. lol. However I still wouldn't be putting anything down there and my gynaecologist agreed on this one when I mentioned the subject at my annual today.

Magic Shaving Powder instead

I was never able to shave due to the itch growing back in. Recently someone mentioned Magic Shaving Powder so I bought some. It's amazing; chemically melts the hair so it just rinses away. I found no itching using this. Completely hairless perineum is really sweet!

I think Magic is considered the semi-official hair removal product of Lit. After reading some of the threads about it, I bought some. I was less than impressed with it, but I'm sure that it's one of those YMMV situations. :)

I went beserk a couple of days ago and shaved the WHOLE lot with my boyfriend's electric razor. It's much less irritated than when I did it with my regular razor, but still a bit. And I just can't quite get some bits.

I think I should let it grow back and get it waxed by a professional.

Vanelane:

I tried that stuff you mentioned and it worked great! My gf loved what it did for me so much that she used it herself!

Then we did some nasty stuff that she'd been wanting to do for a while based on a pic I found in another thread, but that's a different story. Not sure if the pic would be appropriate here!

There is Nair for men. I'm not sure how readily available it is.

Yeah Baybee keep em thinking!!

Nair as far as I can tell doesn't work for anyone very well.

For the best hairless feeling I suggest you try a beautician. No need to feel embarrassed because they see everything..and wax everything.

Nothing feels as good as a proper waxing :D

As for itching, I suggest a weak solution of tea tree oil/water or some "Ingrow Go" to sooth.
Oh and use a fresh sharp blade everytime you shave.
