Italian terms of endearment.

I've googled but to be honest, I just got confused with it all and I know you can ask all kinds of questions over here and get sound answers, so here goes.

I'm writing a story right now which revolves around an Italian restaurant. There is the restaurant owner who is a very bubbly character and loves my female character, Fiona like a daughter. I would like some terms of affection he could use towards her.

Also, the love interst is also an italian young man, so I need some terms he could use when they're getting all erotic and romantic together.

One of my favorites is from Moonstruck. Loretta's father calls her "mia piccola angela", my little angel. (Not sure on the spelling.)

caro or cara - love, sweetheart
tesoro or tesora - treasure
amore mio - my love
gaoia - My joy
ti voglio bene - lots of love, love you lots, less intimate than ti amo and more appropriate with a sibling or a parent

And of course, ti amo - I love you in a passionate, forever kind of way. For lovers and spouses.

Plus in Italian they'll make a proper name into a nickname by adding an appropriate suffix. I'm not sure of the rules, though.

don't forget, you can personalize with "mia" for a female and "mio" for a male,

as in "cara mia" or "caro mio" (my dear)

"mia bella" (my pretty girl) is good too,

and "mia bellissima" (my most beautiful) can be better.

"mia strega" or "mia bella strega" or "mia piccola strega" can be used in a playful way (my witch, my pretty witch, my little witch)
