I settle down to watch the movie.The credits are rolling.Then the
scream words appear,"Based on a story/novel by...".

This immediately tells you that the movie and book may have the
same title but any other similarity between the two is purely
accidental.

The only hope you have left is that you never read the book.

And then if you have read the book,the whole time you are watching this movie...you think...it didnt happen that way in the book.

Or who is that character?

She didnt love/hate/want/despise/etc him that much in the book...
