I admit to being old-fashioned and naive, though. I still think what my mom and dad taught me is the right way to live. I was involved in numerous real life and online protests against that shit, both here and in other venues. Yet now that rough beast is short a leg against heavy hitting protestors like Oprah (no small thanks to Don Imus, ironically).

I do believe that taking on the inequities of deeply entrenched cultures, does bear fruit. It takes a lot of time and it starts out looking like a waste of breath. But if a group as powerful, and simultaneously insulated and charismatic as the gangstuh rappers can be taken to task, any group can.
