If you feel a need to just blurt, feel free to do so.

We have lots of threads devoted to topics and given the controversial nature of the war, it is difficult to just vent an emotion without drawing debate.

So, please, with all due respect to all sides of the arguement, let's have a blurt thread.

No post should quote or be a response to another in the thread.

Do you miss someone?
Are you worried aobut someone?
Are you pissed off at GWB?
Do you want to congratulate GWB without fear of negative responses?

Blurt your thoughts or feelings and maybe, we can show one another the respect necessary to just carry on with blurting without argument, debate or berating one another.

My suggestion is that if you feel someone has blurted something you want to discuss, copy the post to a new thread.

Anyone care to try?

My heart and prayers go out to everyone, right now. Everyone!

I fear the unknown, where will this end?
What will it mean for my children and I?

On 9/11, they lost their innocence. The found out what terror was and learned that they are part of a nation that is vulnerable. They learned what fear was as the Army's airplanes and helicopters flew over frequently and my son asked if one of those planes would "crash" into his school. (He was five at the time.)

He almost learned hate and racism. He had to learn that all men on television with white turbans were not bad. He had to learn that men could not be judged by their appearance. Brown eyes, dark skin and white hats does not mean someone is bad. Damn the babysitter who let them watch CNN 8 hours a day...or whatever.

I am waiting to see them as they have been with their dad, visiting, for a couple of days.

I wonder what lessons they have learned in the last 24 hours.

My first post about this damn war. Thank you Miss Taken because you offer a thread that's not threatening. :)

I'm angry, disappointed and most of all worried about the soldiers. Those are brave men that do what they must because it's their job. They deserve all our support and prayers even if I'm against the purpose of their mission.

*by the way I just wanted to say Hi, How the heck are you?*

I would blurt but it would just get blown out of proportion. :D (Happy BDay MissT!)

I think that when you draw a line in the sand there comes a point when you either stop the other from crossing it or you back up and draw another line in the sand or you quit drawing lines in the sand.

The UN's M.O. is to draw a line and then draw another and another and another and another until the problem goes away.

That was Clinton's M.O. quite frequently, too.

Bush didn't draw the line in the sand--his father, the UN and Clinton all did that--he simply refused to back up and draw another one.

There comes a point in time when you either mean what you say and you're willing to back it up, or you simply shut up and recant. Do we? Do we mean what we say? How far are we willing to back ourselves up? Or are we the sort to keep drawing lines in the sand for the other to cross?

These are, by the by, rhetorical questions. Rhetorical means that I asked them without seeking an answer from others.

Ditto....

My opinion matches KM's, I couldn't have said it better.

Stressed and concerned

I served in the first Gulf war. I spent time in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq. I saw first hand the injustices that those troops inflicted upon the citizens of Kuwait. I desperately wanted to be able to go and take out Saddam then.
I was also exposed to an unknown number of chemical compounds. I saw things there that still give me nightmares to this day. If I were forced to answer the questions truthfully, I couldn't successfully pass a VA post traumatic stress test.
I swore to myself that I would never go back. That I would keep my feet firmly on Midwestern American soil for the rest of my days. And now I'm watching people back in that desert.
And I feel incredibly guilty for not being there, even though there's really nothing to for me to do anymore.

Doing fine!

*hugs*

I jsut turned on the television and part of me thinks the media is way overboard. Is this a war between countries or a war between networks?

Go and search, Miss...the answers are out there - if not for everything, then for enough to make you question almost everything you're seeing on TV or reading in the mainstream press.
