Oh boy- I wasn't being bitter. I really meant the thank you; I was just making fun of the situation in general. Paying a doctor with roses... Well, I feel they deserve some kindness too, with all the flak I usually see them getting from everybody.
I'm a healthcare worker myself, I know what to do, don't worry.

Sorry I misinterpreted. I think doctors and nurses and other health care workers do deserve a little kindness too. I'm not in healthcare but I do hear complaints which I don't always think are fair.

I agree, but my main problem is that sad little white haired birds with a limp need to stop bringing me bad news.

When I'm on Lit, I'm resting before the next activity. Time to write for Summer Lovin? Next week, maybe...

I've been resting a lot this morning -- the kids have been very good -- and am feeling better. We had to punt on the skating but I think I will take them mini-golfing this afternoon, weather permitting.

Good luck with all your activities. Mine slow down a bit after today (last day for watching my friend's daughter) and then on Sunday we leave to visit my MIL and SIL. At least there's a little downtime there.

And good luck if you write a story. Boy I'd like to write one. I will have to ponder.

Grr! I had to take my eldest daughter to hospital 15 miles away, leave her, and collect her 2 to 4 hours later.

On the way there were road signs for a major road closure starting at 7pm until 7am. I dropped my daughter at 3.45pm. On the way back home they had already closed the major road at 4pm.

When she rang to say she would be ready to collect in half an hour, I had to follow a long diversion that made the journey 20 miles each way. I could have made it shorter by using rural by-roads but I had used them on the way back home. Ten minutes after the major road was closed the by-roads were already gridlocked. I didn't attempt them two hours later but I could see some of the long queues as I drove along the other major road.

On the way to her home a new four-way temporary traffic light had been installed during the hour I had been away. I heard about it on the local radio traffic report. It had rained heavily just after the contractors had left the site - and the 4 way lights failed.

We were going out shopping this evening. We've decided it would be easier to go tomorrow morning...
