My TV has a computer in it, I watch Netflix & stream other stuff right off of it. If you get a new TV in the future, I recommend a 'smart TV.'

Story Trigger

My local auction and the Boot Fair on Sunday mornings often suggest ideas for stories from the objects on offer.

Yesterday morning my favourite Boot Fair stall, run by three women raising money for our local Hospice, had an odd piece of clothing.

It was a white onesie. It was very good quality and showed no signs of wear but everyone was turning it down at fifty pence. Why?

The back had the legend in Pink Glitter embroidery "Bride To Be" and on the left breast was the Bride's first name, also in Pink Glitter. It had two waist pockets and a zipped side pocket. The hood could be tightened with a drawstring.

I tried to imagine when it would have been worn. It wasn't practical for a Hen Night because the Bride-To-Be would have to have stripped to go to the toilet. Nightwear for the night before the wedding? Perhaps. But it was too thick a material to be sensible in a centrally heated hotel. Apart from the colour and embroidery it looked more like a warm outdoor garment, a sweatshirt hoodie with attached legs.

Perhaps it could be worn while the Bride was having her hair and make up professionally applied? There were no traces of cosmetics, and again, getting the onesie off might have disturbed the artist's work.

So what occasion was it intended for?

Can I write a story to explain why this onesie was bought, and when it was worn - if it was worn at all.

It was eventually bought by a woman for her daughter. She explained that all that was necessary was to wear a T-shirt over the top, and the embroidery wouldn't show. I think she had a bargain at fifty pence.

Reason for being in market? Maybe the wedding was cancelled. Maybe she was kidnapped. Maybe she gained a few pounds and it didn't fit.

Emptying two old rooms to be renovated, bittersweet. I went in and just breathed in the smell of the room that will soon be gone. Moving forward is good, but painful too. We did take pictures but I can't bottle that smell that has always comforted me in my favorite room of the house.
