Well, you sure as hell fooled me. I didn't even begin to think it was one of the guys.
Had me too.

blut: Why do cats always throw up on beds when it's raining and you can't get the cleaned bedding dry properly?

2 am and she calls me cause I'm still awake . . .

Fuck, imagine if my phone rang now . . .

I need sleep. I'm nearing delusional.

We have 2 laptops - the old clunker I'm using runs ME. Hubby's new-beaut one uses Vista. It sure looks pretty. But I think I hate it almost as much as ME.
My desktop uses XP-Pro.

The new laptop, rumming ME2, I mean Vista?

Yeah, but this is the new desk top. We got both. I'm so frustrated. In addition to getting used to a new keyboard and the new version of Word, I have to deal with this.

I installed Word 97 thinking I could just use that for work, but the spellcheck and grammar check functions are missing. Something screwy with Vista, apparently.

:(

Your destop has the only semi useful operating system M$ has done since 2K and 3.11
ME was so bad they ended support before they killed 95 :(

The learning curve for the new version of office is huge! That and the format change for documents is why most businesses are not switching. :)
Best bet? See a good tech and find out if all the hardware drivers are available to put XP on that machine, buy a copy or 2 of XP and trash Vista. You could try Open Office which is a free office suite and all I use now. Go to openoffice.org and see if there is a Vista version available yet. It's free, try it and see waht you think.

I found one problem with open office. If you use word editing marks they don't transfer. I did a quick edit for a friend who uses OO. I only have word on my laptop. I use OO at home on the desktop though.
