They go straight to in-school suspensions in my school.

Yup, good thing. :cathappy:

I should mention that I usually don't show quite as much cleavage in class. ;) I do wear the same blouse though.

The kid's school detention day is Saturday, after games.
Luckily, they've never had one.

My kids school is Tuesday evening detention... Both boys had about two each I think in the whole time they were there... Daughter's had a dozen or so and she's still got a year to do  Bless her, she won't be beaten in an argument :D

I don't think they are allowed to have it on a Saturday here. It'd be a heck of a lot more convenient than students missing class because they are in in-school suspension all the time.

Thank goodness :D Could cause some fidgeting and wriggling if you did :D

I actually do get comments on how professionally I dress for a student teacher. The only luxury I allow myself occasionally is sneakers - my back, legs and feet just can't take constant heels. Of course, S thinks it's kinky and makes me go teach without my underwear on

In-school detention seems like a waste of time.
I think it is. Like the kids aren't just happy to get out of the classroom? Like the ones that go to in-school aren't most often the ones that are most behind in class and would benefit from being there? I mean, duh.

The only thing even worse is out-of-school suspension.

It only benefits the other students.

Gotta go, up in six hours for another 14 hour shift. :)

'Night, all.
That is true, and sometimes, tzhat's all I can ask for. Like, as previously mentioned, when someone stands in my classroom yelling at me for ten minutes... kinda hard to hold class when that's going on.

Night  and sweet dreams

I was a long-term sub for an inner-city middle school in Milwaukee several years ago. Some days, I was almost afraid to come to class.

*shudders*

Sorry to hear that :rose: My school is fairly inner-city as well... I won't claim there isn't worse, but people tend to be impressed upon hearing I'm student-teaching there and doing reasonably well.
