I think, perhaps, I might be losing control... I don't know what my brain thinks of that, cause it shut off a few hours ago. But the rest of me doesn't seem to mind.

Control is not all it's made out to be.

Think no more. Feel

And if it turns out that I can't handle the consequences of letting my feelings go unchecked?
Then you sit with those feelings too and carry the beauty of what you did have, what you did feel. You feel blessed for the precious time, moment, and gifts from the universe that you were given.
.

If only for a moment.

1)you will be able to handle it
2)prison is a very poor metaphor...a prison would be if you were restricting something, not allowing it to take it's course...

You have less to lose and more to gain than you may believe. Of course, I am speaking from a distance and without specifics. Your lives and your choices are your own, as are all of ours.

I can't say I always embrace my own emotions...but I'm getting better at it..

Reason keeps us captive. Feeling is freedom.

Depends on in what manner you feel.

Reason can be liberating- perhaps more literally than figuritively.

What if you've given a good proportion of your energies to feeling and let the reason fall by the wayside constantly?

The prison of emotion for some may be a restriction of rational thought. not neccesarily self imposed. If self imposed then perhaps not self maintained.

I fight the constant battle of feel vs. think. I've made peace with sometimes going with . . . " I think I feel . . . " Why is it never . . . " I feel I think" ?

As with everything the balance between head and heart is what is important. If I choose to be true to myself, then what I feel is more important to me in keeping to that self-promise.

The battle that rages within most people whether they choose to address it or not.

Some unlike others are not in the right time or place in their lives to be able to be as true to themselves as they like. I for one don't handle my head/heart struggles well, if i address them at all at times.

One can only do what is right for themselves within their power.

~~ Goodnight :rose:

everyone's path winds through different woods and crosses different streams...

freedom for me could very well be prison for you...but I think it more common in my experience that people rationalize their way out of what they feel than feel their way past the barriers placed by rationality.

but as Vana says, balance is important. To rely on a single source is always dangerous. Whether it's office supplies or emotional input. It is not necessarily wrong to be tightly focused...it's just dangerous.

...and all this coming from a person who has been known to seek out physical danger simply for excitement...*sigh*

I have no easy answers for anyone...including myself.

There is this saying: Do what you can for who you can, with what you have, and where you are.

I say, that includes Self - especially Self.

Nite nite, Sweet. Fresh dreams :rose:

I'm watching the endless ripples that pebbles make when you throw them into a pond . . . or, alternatively known as " playing with fire".

Sending kisses back, Sweet

My friends are asking good questions and trying to help each other useful answers to "How should we live?" and "What is the good life?"

I have of late, wherefore I know not, lost all my mirth
And indeed it goes so heavily with my disposition that this goodly frame the earth
Seems to me a cold and solitary promentory.
