Possibly.....But our voting system was a test run (and with the wait times, probably crash) this year. They didn't have everyone's names in order to call them out even if they wanted to.

I've given up on the Senate. Missouri and Tennesse are pretty much set races. It's the amount of turn over showing already, in both, that's making me happy. The House has me squealing though.

Just found out that my state passed a ban on same-sex marriages, or "a marriage between a man and a woman is the only legally valid domestic union in Idaho."

Bastards.

We had a State Constitutional Amendment that marriage is between a man and a woman.
Then we also had a Referrendum legalizing same sex unions for all the same rights as marriage.



Unfortunetly, both of those appear to be sliding the opposite of what I want. Denver county isn't reporting anything yet, but Boulder wasn't the landslide of support I was expecting, either. Helpful, but not as much as I wanted.

I also am very pleased with the result in the House, and there will be a net gain in the Senate...Although it may not be enough to win outright control. Regardless, the days of the Congress acting as a rubber stamp for the Bush administration are over. A woman will be Speaker of the House! This is a historic night, and if the leverage gained tonight is used correctly...not to wound or in the seeking of revenge, but in healing and building...then this country will see great benefit from tonight's results.

Since Pelosi's first words were about cleaning out the "swamp" that existed, somehow I doubt there will be much in the way of cooperation and an effort to build anything. I've never liked her, from the second she was nominated. There was an African-American candidate (I can't remember his name) that I thought would have been a much better choice. Oh well, I will try to keep an open mind and see what happens. Maybe she'll surprise me (hopefully they all will). I'm a fan of seeing people put up or shut up, so I hope they do win the Senate (although it's not looking great). The Republicans got control and stunk up the joint (IMHO). Let's see if the Dems can do better...

They're hesitant to call VA, but with 84% in, we might have MO??? MT is looking promising........Could we really have Congress?

Can you imagine how different it would have been with more Rep Senate seats up for graps?

Is it me, or did Bush not do nearly as much campagning for his party?

It's ok to stay up and get loopy with sleep dep and adrenaline on Election night, isn't it?
