But that's the beauty of "personal best." It doesn't matter how it stacks up to the work of others - only whether it's your own best work. And then it makes a wonderful bar to try to raise.

Personally, I would like to see nearly anyone's personal best. I'd like to see his/her best work, and I'd like to see what ideas and stylistic elements that person considers the mark of good writing.
