The garden is gorgeous right now--the flowers all top-heavy with water after the thunderstorm has passed, the basil starting to perfume the air, the hydrangea blossoms looking like starry spheres. I was wandering in the garden, checking on seeds, discovering I have dozens of blackberry canes in the back yard, eating handfuls of berries and taking pictures.

As I was drying my muddy feet back in the house, my phone rang. My great-uncle Ed is dying in a hospital in Pittsburgh. He is the last of my grandparents' generation, my gramma's baby brother. He was always a man with little time for euphemisms, unlimited time for family, and a font of funny stories.

I wish I believed in someone or thing I could pray to for an easy passage for him.

:rose: I love you, Uncle Ed.
im betting your uncle ed is the kind of guy who can appreciate the important things in life such as a creative and loving neice. just having you be a part of his life im sure will help to let him rest in peace.

He'll be jet-lagged with a fourteen hour time difference. It may be me getting snogged in the middle of the night while he's wide awake. :D Either way, I'm not picky.

*shaking head in disdain*

I don't know what it is about my little brother that makes me want to smack the piss out of him.

Very Cool AV Variable. :)

I'm happy I've accpeted some things of me. I'm happy she understands and feels the same way. I'm just happy.

I'm at peace.

I don't really come here often anymore because I don't need to. I have those close to me. I have what's important to me stored in my heart. If anyone needs a friend, I'm always available, mainly through Yahoo. Till I see you again my friends, I'm basically just dropping by. Take care all. Much peace and love to all. :)

Way to go Dar!

Would you feel obligated to attend a birthday party that you got one full day's notice to attend?

My niece turns 6 on the 4 but wont be in town so they are having a party on Friday. I got the call last night, around 8 inviting us to their place for only cake and icecream. Not only am I continually ticked that their invites are last minute, but there was nothing put on for the older two boys this spring. Hubby asked last night before their call if anything had been said about her party, I told him no and make plans for us and F... them!
I know money is an issue with them, and with all the family getting older it gets more expensive to feed everyone, BUT, hot dogs aren't expensive, and we could all bring salads to cut the cost for one person.
I have to all and invite them to my hubbys big birthday next friday, INCLUDING DINNER and cake and icecream. No we really cant afford to put on a spread, but I also cant put on a big 40th party either so its a family deal. Salads, hots and hams, and cake and icecream, nothing fancy just a celebration to recognize he made it to 40.
Every time I turn around they whine about no money, they have a nice big pool, they have a nice new car, they have central air, he started a new job over a year ago and is doing quite well. She just started a new job locally that pays the same and is closer so in the long run they will have more money. WHAT THE FUCK IS THEIR PROBLEM???
I hate the fact that you cant pick your own family!
