Pete is not a nice guy. He's grouchy and thinks every spot he's in belongs to him. He tends to feel imposed upon when others come into his personal space. And now, for his crimes and for his aggressive nature, he has been tried and sentenced.

Poor Pete wouldn't leave the newly released guppy babies alone, so he's been banished from the big aquarium and sent to fish jail in a mason jar on my desk until I can get him his own little 2-3 gallon tank. It's not always the nice guys who finish last. :(

Siamese fighting fish are supposed to be kept alone, unless it's with a female.

Here are the babies he wouldn't leave alone... Gotta love the fishtank!

Actually, according to a great deal of research and several hands on experiences, Bettas are not good tank mates for their own kind, including females. They are territorial, and will chase their own kind away. When breeding does occur, the female rarely survives - he squeezes the eggs from her, usually to the point of internal damage and stunning, then drives her away to protect his new brood. If she survives what he does to her, she is often eaten by something she can't get away from in her condition.

If the fish are NOT their own species, such as smaller tetras, guppys, and mollys, and he has a plant in a corner to "protect", he only really messes with them if they are trying to hang out in his corner when he is making his bubble nest. He is much more likely to be picked on and have his tail chewed than to do the chewing.

Babies that he thinks MIGHT fit in his mouth (and are NOT his own and under his protection) are food, not friends.

You know more about them than I do...I kept bigger fish, when I had them in college...Oscars. :)

I'm raising tadpoles in my garden pond.

So far, out of about 90, I have one very small frog. About a quarter of the rest have their back legs beginning to show, but most are still just tadpoles.

This year, for the first time, the water lily produced a flower.

The pond is a success because the passers-by have been watching the wildlife in it for three years now. Some ask "Why no fish?" but most appreciate that it is a wildlife pond and just watch what there is.

I get confused easily when I try to do more than one thing at a time. "You would have lost that testicle had you arrived in ER one minute later," the nurse scolded, as she toweled the toothpaste out of my hair.

Giving up your power to someone else is a stupid move. They will never use that power you gave them for your own good. Better that you keep your own power and let that other person take from someone else.

*waves* at the person(s) post stalking me. Stick around, I'll write you a fucking book. You know who you are and so do I.

Writer's Block = Demolished.

I finally know how my play is going to end :)

Wish I could say the same about my latest attempt at Erotica...

I really need to stop procrastinating. When will I ever take the knowledge, and apply it properly?

Why does the first pancake and the first crepe never turn out? Ever?

Speak for yourself. I have had perfect pancakes all the way through a batch.

I haven't spoken to my boss since last month, and I need money...

I've always heard that both goats and pigs find most things to their liking. :D

Better gird yourself, then, and make that call. :rose:

Today really would have to try very hard to get worse.

We lost against Spain, I had to endure two hours of some asshole telling me about how pit bulls totally can't be trained and will bite my face off without exception at the Humane Society, then I had a flat tire, then a thunderstorm started and then I took a tire iron to the face and now have a massive bleeding bruise right below my eye, which is swelling shut.

Yeah, anyone else? This seems to be a good time to beat on me, both figuratively and literally. Might as well get it over with.

:rose: A tire iron to the face? I hope the other guy looks worse! My girl is part pitbull and the sweetest thing ever. I'm sure they can be trained as well as any other dog. (But they still make me nervous. )

While I was tightening the nuts on the spare tire, it slipped off and hit me in the face.

... yeah, it sounds a lot cooler if I don't mention this part.

I'm not a fan of dogs, used to be really scared and I'm just now learning to be a bit more comfortable around them, but I've done a lot of research and I know that what he was saying was BS. Yes, Pitbulls are among the more aggressive breeds, but with a responsible owner and proper training, they do just fine. He was perpetuating myths, that's what really pissed me off. I kept asking whether he'd seen any research on the topic, and he just kept repeating "people say" and "I've heard" and "everyone knows". Especially in the middle of the Humane Society, I expected better.

I now have four frogs in my pond.

They will never be large enough to eat.

Og

You just aren't looking across the right body of water. Look a little further over the garden fence . . . a little further . . . squint . . . There ya go! Large, meaty, well-fed Frogs!

Well done. That guy is a jerk. Pit Bulls mostly suffer from their owners' need for machismo. The doggies themselves are big ol' teddy bears so long as they're treated well. Dobermans are the same way, though usually a bit on the dumb side.
