When I got home a little while ago, I was reminding my dad about going to see Avatar tomorrow. I am pumped! Been waiting a long time for it.

Anyways...he was telling me about his day and how he spent HOURS looking for a Christmas gift for me. AGAIN!

He told me that he has given up looking and decided to give me cash instead cuz I am impossible to buy for. I told him again that I do not want anything for Christmas. Then I thought....

Since we are gonna be at the mall tomorrow to see the movie, let's get your picture made with Santa! That'll be my Christmas present!:):D

His reply?

Yeah, I think I'll just give you some money.

Sometimes when I'm feeling very thin
I wonder if they notice
The pallor of my skin
I suspect that they have seen me
And I'm sure I must to flee
But then I stop and look behind
And there is no one there to see

Do I dare to dream again
And chase the life I dread
Or will the nightmare so insane
Chase me away instead

The neighbors across the street now have totally outdone us all. Not only do they have enough current running through their front yard to power a General Motors plant, they have Christmas carols coming from one of those neon figures as well! "Faaaa...la la la la laaaaa......."

Just hideous!! :D

I hope the snow is deep enough to shovel before I go to bed. :nana:

Now that's the Jersey spirit! LOL Hang onto your long underwear Easterners, and ready yourselves. We on the west, are with you in spirit. poooft Sorry, coffee just came out nose...how embarassing. Perhaps I should cut myself off, and go to liquor now. OMG And I forgot to buy the Grand Marnier!

I'm actually the only person I know that likes shoveling snow. We are also not expecting to get as much snow as the rest of the area, for some reason. I don't quite get that one.

Like shoveling snow? You sick puppy! tee hee Actually, I enjoy it as well, for about five minutes, then I get distracted with snow play.

Maybe you live in a banana belt? I know Denver used to get hit hard, and just north one hour would be sunny and clear.

Usually I get hit at a medium amount here, but this storm is unique, and we are on the light end in our particular area. It's odd.

And I like shoveling even though I have a large driveway and it takes me 30 minutes to an hour to clear the whole thing. The heavier the stuff is the longer it takes. Which is why I am hoping to have a moderate covering before I go to bed so that I can get once over it tonight and again when I wake up in the morning. Halve the load this time around.

waiting for my next cup of coffee as the brewing machine brews. Words dancing in my head, feelings of dread, always my expectations are torn asunder. I know better, my disappointments are only small dreams looking for a home. They look shoddy and unkempt. Visions of disillusion, somewhere in my teens I lost my joy with the realization that my life was not real, it was a nightmare not a dream. Where are my dreams? Why is life agony?

Took me an hour to shovel. It was fun watching my cat skitter about from under one car to under another, watching me as I performed my task. He reminds me of a chest burster from the Alien movies.

This weekend I attended my friends' 40th wedding anniversary party. I had been their best man at the wedding.

Technically it was a Royal Wedding because the groom is descended from a European Royal Family and at the time of the wedding was xxth in line to the no-longer-existing throne. He has a hereditary title of nobility that only Monarchist enthusiasts recognise.

Forty years on, he has moved down the order because of births in more senior lines but his son and daughter are still technically part of a Royal Family.

Perhaps that's why he chose King Og to be his best man?

Why did my computer just spontaneously reboot? It flashed a warning for about a second, but it wasn't enough time for me to read it...

I am really bad at hitting the shift key. I have been really bad at it for years. I could have sworn I was holding it down when I typed that first "why" up there (not now, intentionally this time), but I had to go back and retype it anyway. mrph.

I really hope tonight happens. I've been looking forward to it for a while. It would be great if it did, and wasn't cancelled because of this snow.

Signed up for a membership at a New York Sports Club down the street from my office this evening. I rand for ten minutes, lifted some weights, and I think I pulled something in my right thigh while doing a second set of squats. It ended my workout a little prematurely...

I need to get a swimsuit so that I can take advantage of the pool they have. I can't swim, but I am tall enough to use the deep end for low-impact jogging ;)

Since my final was turned in I guess I have no excuse not to start cleaning up the bomb site that landed in our house the last few weeks. *yawns*

If you wear that outfit, I'll come help :rose:

Most people get a white Christmas, mine looks very wet and not in a good way.

I cannot figure out what in the hell we did to deserve being kicked every time we finally seem to manage to find our feet.

Our new kitchen and downstairs cloakroom are finished and ready to be used.

It was touch and go whether they would be completed in time for Christmas but our Clerk of Works signed everything off about quarter of an hour ago.

Now we have taps that work, equipment in the correct places for a kitchen so that there is the usable triangle, and water stop taps for the two mains inlets to the house that work by flicking a hydrostatically operated switch (no electricity, no wires, just operated by water pressure). I don't have to get on my hands and knees and scrabble to get at the stop cock, or lift a cover in the garden and use a long-handled wrench, any more.

The best feature of the kitchen is unchanged - an uninterrupted panoramic sea view.
