My job is done.... ;)

Sorry I missed you at the Loveshack but i didn't need to make everyone sick.....

I really wish the muse would return. I feel bad for all those SRPers that are waiting. I have only the umph for one and even that's minimal desire. Writing a story... I can barely wrap my mind around the idea. *sighs*

OK, a while back I bought a wedding dress second hand, hoping I;d be able to diet into it. Having realised I will *never* have a 27" waist without a dangerous excursion into the wonders of anorexia I have decided to re-sell it on Ebay and put the proceeds towards the (new) dress I have fallen in love with (see the 'to avoid selling my body or even a kidney' thread for details)

So here's my question... is this advert clear and appealing?

I think it is very well done.

The only thing I'd change...

I'd put the bodice picture as the main picture folks see.

The other one (I guess is the underarm picture? ) It doesn't appeal to me as a buyer, if you still have it grouped with the rest, the buyer can still click on it to see the stain. (Which I couldn't make out).

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try and change that. I do have the bodice picture as the one that shows up in the listings as a tiny thumbnail, but somehow the underarm one became the first of the larger pics. Very odd.
And yes, it is a slight stain which is why I bothered to photograph it - I wanted to be honest about the condition, but I didn;t want buyers to be put off by the description!

It's so sad that that dress wouldn;t fit me :( It was, like, £1600 cheaper than the other one I like... :D

Oh, it's good to list and show the stain. I just couldn't see it. I think it is a lovely dress. I've never thought of selling mine, though I probably should. I don't want my daughters to ever wear it. I was a big girl when I got married. I'm finally back down to the size I was when I wore my wedding gown. I've thought of using mine to one day make Christening gowns for my grandchildren, but honestly... I'm really not that talented with a sewing machine, nor that ambitious. I'll probably cross-stitch them blankets. ( rambling over... lol )

If you don;t sell it I think the Christening gown idea is lovely. You could always take the silk to a dressmaker.

Also, unless they have twins, you only need one Christening gown and then it can do the rounds of all the grandchildren. When I have babies there's a gown that was bought for my uncle that my mum and my sister and I and my cousins have all worn. It's nice to have something like that.

Anyhoo, am also rambling. I'm sure there are many other big girls out there who would like a wedding dress, the question is: is it still in style? Some fashions change quickly whilst others are classic and stay in vogue for ages.

It's a lovely dress, very beaded... the train and all. Deep V-neck and a very long train. I've not had it out of its protective box in several years. The last time I did, it was because my kids wanted to see it.

I'd definitely have a seamstress do a Christening gown; if I went that route. The dress is large enough, she could probably do a cap, a shall, and a blanket, if not little silk shoes. lol...

I had a dream this morning that I had to break into Friar Tuck's place (the man from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, in a modern day cottage). He had an original copy of the bible and it had to be kept out of the hands of the FBI, who were preparing to tear down his house for it.

Don't know why I had that dream, not being christian and all...

i want my computer upgraded so i can see all the pretty flash stuff *pouts* *pokes hubby* Hey maybe he'll let me do some of it :D :D :D
