She had her Ice skating assessment this morning and the instructor not only passed her, but made her skip two levels because she is good enough to move so far on

we did that for YEARS. kat got as far as double jumps and single axel (sp) before one day...that one day after she just gotten her CUSTOM MADE SKATES... $1500, worth, she decided she didnt want to compete after all.

oh but how beautiful she was on the ice. how gorgeous she was when she jumped and did her elements. i remember, fondly, not caring how much i had to pay for her coaches or ice time... i secretly miss it sometimes.

Indeed. We've been doing this for just over a year now and she's doing incredibly well. I love watching her. It's one of the most gracious "sports" out there and she has gained so much self-confidence and self-discipline. Besides, she loves it.

The money, the 60 minute drive there every Sat morning and back, the 3 hours of sitting in the cold - it's all worth it.
