Dukkha is also the first of the Four Noble Truths (and ergo the basis for what Buddhism seeks to address), and is commonly translated as suffering, though this is not entirely correct. It's a fairly complicated term, but it means something along the lines of lacking, missing, incomplete, and unsatisfactory. Anicca is impermanence, and anatta is no-self or no-soul.
