AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM MST /10 AM PDT/ THIS MORNING TO 8 PM MST /8 PM PDT/ THIS EVENING. AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM MST /10 AM PDT/ TO 8 PM MST /8 PM PDT/ SATURDAY.
VERY HOT WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TODAY AND SATURDAY. THE FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR TODAY AND SATURDAY ARE 115 DEGREES AT SKY HARBOR IN PHOENIX...AND 116 DEGREES IN YUMA AND IN THE EL CENTRO/IMPERIAL AREA.
IT WOULD BE WISE TO COMPLETE AS MUCH OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AS POSSIBLE IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THE SUN AND HEAT ARE LESS INTENSE. (That would be good, if it wasn't 100F already. Too late for outdoor chores. The lawn will have to wait another day....or two.)
DURING PERIODS OF EXCESSIVE HEAT... INDIVIDUALS CAN SUFFER HEAT- RELATED ILLNESS WHEN THE BODY TEMPERATURE SYSTEM CAN NO LONGER COOL ITSELF. IF YOU PLAN TO BE OUTSIDE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME ESPECIALLY DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...STAY IN THE SHADE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND DRINK ABUNDANT AMOUNTS OF WATER. WEAR LIGHT-COLORED AND LOOSE-FITTING CLOTHING. IF YOU WEAR A WIDE-BRIMMED HAT...THE HEAD AND BODY WILL BE MUCH COOLER. STOP OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES... DRINK LOTS OF WATER OR OTHER NON- ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES... AND IF POSSIBLE...SPEND MORE TIME IN AIR- CONDITIONED OR WELL-VENTILATED PLACES.
Water, light clothes, shade, hat, air-conditioning......kind of obvious, don't you think.![]()

the library is a good place too. I might go there later.malachiteink said:Mats, they do that in Florida, only they tell the senior citizens to go to the mall -- the mall is always air conditioned
This summer has actually been better than those past. Temperatures have been nearly reasonable...the problem is the air is sooooo damn wet.

Everywhere here is air conditioned. I just love the concept of warning you that it's hot. It's a hundred and fifteen fucking degrees. I don't think there's anyone who isn't fully aware that it's fucking hot!malachiteink said:Mats, they do that in Florida, only they tell the senior citizens to go to the mall -- the mall is always air conditioned![]()
