The fat woman attitude is usually displayed with a defensive and false ego ... almost like they think they have to compensate for their girth by being the baddest and best of everything, and making sure that the world knows it. If they only knew that if they could be comfortable with their fat, others would be, as well ... instead of being disliked for their obnoxious attitude.


You can sub the words in bold with freckled or red-headed or some other non-culture based physical attribute.

When I was younger I had a serious wieght problem. I was so self concious about it that I became bulemic (i don't know how to spell it, just do it). Now that I'm aware of my body & am taking the right care of it I'm going to say what people should have told me then.

You have to base your wieght on your height!
There are too many girls now who are seriously under wieght. & I think that because there are so many of these girls & those waifs we call modles out there we all asume the wieghing 120 & being 5'2" is fat.

Now, what is that supposed to tell me about his behavior in relationship to his physical attributes? And for your information, that really happened.

Go back - actually read what I wrote. Never said "all short men". Hell, I don't even know what would constitute "short" in a man.

It seems to me that you just did the very thing someone else was just accused of. Grouping all fat chicks in one category and saying that they all have attitudes about it. I find this to be quite untrue. I'm not saying that all are not like that. Just like not all short men have an attitudes. It's just one in a bunch. Not all of ANY group is like it. It's all stereotypes.
Just because I'm fat, I don't think I'm better than anyone else. I do my best, but I don't have to BE the best. I am comfortable with my fat. I have my insecure moments, I believe everyone does at one time or another.
And I don't believe that women are the ones who are always hung up on it. Men can be just as cruel if not crueler when it comes to judging women. As far as being defensive, we have to be or our ego and sense of self worth will be destroyed. It's like that in any "group". When you attack who I am as a person, even if it is "what you see" then yes, I am going to be defensive. It's an automatic response. I have listened to years of shit like this and I have ignored it and I have gotten bitchy. But it doesn't stop. I am human, I have emotions. Unfortunately any man OR woman who judges me solely on my weight instead of getting to know ME has already prosecuted and found me guilty of being less than human and not worthy of anything but ridicule. So who really loses out here? Me or them?

Ok I wasn't going in this thread anymore but I just want to add something to this.

A person's frame matters just as much if not more then their height.

My gf is 5 foot 6 and weighs 107 lbs.

Is she underweight??? No, but according to many doctors and those stupid BMI charts(body mass index) she is. She has a very tiny frame with very thin bones. Her shoulder blades are smaller then my hands. Smaller then the palms of my hands.

I can almost touch my thumb and pinkie finger together when I wrap them around her wrist.

She has breasts. Rather large ones when taken in the context of her frame. They are 34C's.

A friend of hers is 5 foot 9 and weighs less then 107 lbs. I think she is closer to 100 lbs.

They both have the same size frame one is just 3 inches taller. She is a little under weight but eats normaly. I have been out to dinner with her enough and she eats just fine to me. She has a very fast metabolism and will probably continue to be a little under weight untill she gets over 25 or has kids whichever comes first.

I can't believe I'm posting this, but y'all have seen recent pics of me, and they'll attest to the fact that I'm not fat. I'm not tiny, by any means, but you wouldn't look at me and think I was seriously overweight.

I'm 5'6" and weigh 190 pounds. The brick shithouse description fits me rather well. I have a friend who weighs 10 punds less than me and wears jeans 4 sizes bigger. According to height/weight charts, I'm morbidly obese.

We need a new way to guage health as well as over/underweight.

Oh, and I've never personally experienced short man attitude. Nor fat woman attitude.

Guess what!....I'm a fat chick! First off...I am not comfortable with my body...I never have been. The smallest I have ever gotten was 175lbs (size 12)...and I did that by starving myself and excersizing for 2 or 3 hours a day. Now you can think what you want and say..."drink a slimfast"...but until you have lived in a fat women's body, don't sit there and judge them!! I have never know any fat women who thinks that they are the best and baddest at everything! Although it may be true that weight is more a womens issue rather then a mans...personally my hubby doesn't care how fat I am! He loves me for "who" I am.

Oh yeah..Riff, I have dated short men and have absolutely NO problem finding them attractive.
