This is one of those random questions that pops into my head every few months.

Back when I was in HS a 20th century history class was listed on the curriculiam but was never actually taught. I wanted to take that over AP american history but no one would teach the 20th century class.

So I am just curious does anyone anywhere in the country know of a 20th century history class?

I figure some private schools might offer one but I don't know of any schools private or public that do around here.

20th century history... as in eveything that happened (or at least the highlights) during the 19th century?

my high school didnt have a specific course for it, but they did teach it as part of US History. US History is a requirement for graduation and it's a year long course where most of the history courses there are only half year. They taught us well and they taught us a lot. And I think it helped some that the main instructor for the course works for the state DA's office in the summer. He really knew everything that was going on (and he's really friendly too).

That didn't make sense. Perhaps you meant to say "1900's" instead of 19th century, which would be the 1800's.

In my school anything that happened after 1975 was covered in a class called World Affairs. Or something like that.

yeah I did.... I'm a bit sick and rather drugged cuz of it... at least someone saw my thoughts

we covered recent US history in my AP history class, but we didn't have a separate course for it. i haven't heard of one at any of my friends' schools.

In my high school, we had the option to choose either World history or National history.

I took ''Other'' Option.

I took a class called 20th Century history...it covered all of the 1900's and ended with current events by spring semester. It was probably one of my favorite classes. Then again we got to watch Easyrider in class...
