How do you handle it when you're suffering emotionally?

I slap myself and say, "Hey! knock off the self pity!"

Think positive, get on with it! Some good always comes out of bad!

tough one

This is a tough one for me. With so much going on I find myself in the pity thing. But what I do do mostly is take all that negative enrgy and apply it to my patient care at work and then I get the satisfaction of hey I helped someone today and it helps me feel better.

I bury myself in work, and stay busy. I do everything I possibly can to keep from sinking into a depression, and try to find some positive things in my life. Although, it is nice to wallow in self-pity sometimes, as long as you pick yourself up by your pants and join the living again.

PPMan, are we talking about a glass of beer cause if so, it seems like it's always completely empty. (I think someone is drinking my beer).

Dammit, someone get up and get me another beer!:D

Seriously, I believe my glass is always half full. If it begins to get a little low, I get my ass off the couch and fill it back up. No one is going to do it for me, just like they won't get up and get me another damn beer!

Neither, the cup is waiting to be filled, or dumped.

I think happy thoughts. My kids. My husband. My friends. If they don't drag me out of the slump, then I know I am bad off.

i'm into the zen approach :) the glass is.

sometimes i rant on lit, sometimes i call a friend, sometimes i lose myself in a book or movie. sometimes i just wallow.

Mmmm, I love Rocky Road! or Mud Pie!

Bathrobes are optional! I don't like Wuthering Heights!

Postive Thoughts

At the risk of whining, I've gone from ALWAYS half-full, to nearly empty over the past year.

However, with some changes in my life happening, and some support from friends online and off, I am returning to knowledge that the content is way more important than the emptiness...

Still can be bleak at times - but the ability to have double-jointed knees - i.e. Kicking myself in the arse! WORKS...

Just my experience...

Happy weekend, all!
