Is The Collapse Of The Democrat Party Eminent?

Indeed.....but they aren't going to collapse, just going to get their ass kicked for the next few years until everyone realizes yet again, the GOP ain't going to do SHIT despite all their promises.

The GOP does not appear to make any promises, any more, other than obstruction of the Dems. Trump's wall is the only definite promise I can think of in the past five years, and that was never going to happen, and was never going to work if it did.

I mean didn't some British dude. . .Mosque Mountain maybe? Temple Ridge? Look all I know is he was a man of God and said if Hitler invaded Hell he'd lead his country to defend Lucifer Morninstar to the last man. Or something.

Haven't heard of that as such, but Churchill did say that if Hitler were to invade Hell, he would at least make some favorable references to the Devil in the House of Commons.

He was of course referring to the UK's unlikely ally the USSR after being criticised for making positive remarks about Russia. Only 18 years earlier the UK (and USA and others) had been fighting Russian Communists in the Russian Civil War.

Back to the thread subject;

The collapse of the Republican Party post-Trump is more likely than a collapse of the Democrats. The Republicans are seriously split between pro and anti-Trumpers and their dedicated (or die-hard!) supporters are dying because they are refusing to be vaccinated despite Trump's recent change of heart.

For the most part, the god, guns and country aspect of the party has been replaced by the conspiracy theorists. When they kick a member out who supports their agenda almost 100% over her opinion of "dear leader", there's no going back.

Of course, the death toll from covid is not likely to make any significant electoral differences. The numbers just aren't there. (The numbers are there in a generational sense, in elderly conservatives dying off, and not being replaced by the young in commensurate numbers.)

The division of the GOP between Trumpers and anti-Trumpers -- more broadly, between old-guard pro-business Republicans and the new wave of hard-right populist nationalists -- is much more significant. At one point it even seemed likely to split the party, to provoke one wing or the other to spin off into a third-party effort, but I think that possibility has faded. But it will be affecting the politics of Republican primary elections for some years to come.

“They’ve been rejected by voters. Democracy doesn’t work for them anymore. That means they can no longer operate within democratic boundaries,” he added. “So, inevitably they swerve outside those boundaries … They invent domestic enemies and national panics to keep themselves in charge. And that’s what we are watching happen right now.”

All of that description applies to the GOP, not to the Democrats.

But the deaths are disproportionally the committed Republicans - those who work for the party and are donors to the party. That has an impact.

The Dems are so dead they had to resort to opening the southern border to import new ones.

They may be dead, like most of their voters, but they always seem to invent another crisis to keep them relevant, or distract from their incompetence.

Right now the Democratic Party, the Socialist Left and the Progressive social Justice Left constitute a sizeable portion of the electorate. Those people aren't going to just go away. If they lose faith in the Democratic Party, they could potentially start nomimating fringe members to run for office. You may well see the Hillaries and even the Sanders/Warrens pushed to the side for candidates that are openly ANTIFA or BLM.

But, I wonder if this won't cause things to collapse even more. Ever since the election of Biden, the media has totally stopped talking about BLM and ANTIFA and promoting their rioting. But, at the point when they initiated radio silence, America was sick of their shit. The certist majority has no interest in autonomous zones or defunding the police, or memorizing all of the conjugations for the 31,533 genders. They have loads of support for "let's treat everyone fairly and with compassion", but not much support for "let's open up all of the prions and let all of the convicted criminals out in the neighborhood where your kids play.

I don't think it comes as a surprise to anyone that I think this is where the Libertarians need to come in and make a major play. They need to appeal to the social liberals out there who want everyone to be free from state oppression. They need to sell Leftists the bitter pill that we will need to stop spending so much money.

I think it's achievable.

Actually, the people to the left of the Democrats are left-progressives, what in other countries are called social democrats -- and they have never caused anything to "collapse" when they came to power.

They have no future as a third party, only in their influence within the GOP.

It's comforting to know that mongoloids like you two represent the Trumplitard party.

The Democratic Party fractures have been on full display this past week. The influence of the extreme left wing has smothered the center-left wing. It’s gotten to the point where Schumer is so worried about a primary challenge from AOC that he’s been letting her dictate his actions.

Manchin did them a big favor by gashing BBB. A friend of mine thinks Joe is preparing for a 2024 presidential run. I haven’t heard any whispers to that effect, but if he does run, the Democrats have a legitimate shot at holding on to the White House in 2024.

You should worry about the party that 45 broke first.

Did you miss what happened in VA and TX last month? And did you know the consensus among Republicans and Democrats alike is that the GOP is poised to recapture the House next year and in a strong position to reclaim the Senate as well. 🇺🇸

If fucker Carlton says the party is collapsing ..how can you say anything else...he's a really smart guy and such

With this 1/6 sham committee they’re burning all their bridges going into 2022

That's not going to lose the Dems any votes.

Surely you're familiar with the silly - but popular - right-wing claim that the Dems would win if only they would pander to them. It's why they never shut up about how we should have nominated Tulsi Gabbard for president or at least VP.

Looking at Gabbard, I'm not clear on why the RW finds her preferable to Harris.
