Dear woman who just began reading my ad. I am talking about a man who loves as much your feeding back to me, as I enjoy responding back to what you shared with me. After all, human beings are designed with a built-in craving for sharing, and the best kind of sharing works in two directions.
But for some strange reason, this feedback fetish I am talking about is being replaced with a show & tell mentality in many people. Or worse – with a compulsion almost – for creating an appearance which competes well with all the other overly great people on social media.
Now I hope you are not afflicted with such a compulsion. You need not impress me with superior adjectives about yourself; I will like you as much, or even more, when you share with me your weaknesses as well. Since I have plenty of those too, and I would love just as much for us to comfort one another. Rather than only admire ourselves.
Of course we will also learn from each other and grow from our conversations in other ways. Just like that happened to people before TV was invented, or the internet. And I’d love nothing more than you sharing with me some fresh new viewpoint, on this and that and the other thing on my mind. Of course, I'll be glad to give you mine, even without you asking me.
