That's the setting for my first literotica posting. "Vendetta's Diary" tells the story of a closet crossdresser who decides to fake his death after he escapes from the World Trade Center. But the dominatrix who transforms him has other ideas...Let's discuss!

September 11th

I don't know about the faking his death part. It may be to soon for that given the pain of all those who lost people for real that day. I did write a story within that week and posted it in two clubs I was in and got clobbered. Being Irish mostly it was my way to take the pain and make something good out of it. It was the story of a woman who having been pulled into the saftey of a building byy a man she can not see ends up making love to him. Primal sex at its best procreation of the species. At the end he kisses her and thanks her for keeping him alive in the insanity and disappears. Several months later she has a baby the question whose it is never is addresed and she is never sorry for those stolen moments in the midst of insanity. SO yeah I think that stories about that time are overdue. The terorists win when we can't think or talk or rejoice in our ability to continue

To soon?

It depends on what you feel inside of you that should tell you if it's to soon or not. There are books and stories out there that already mention September 11. If you feel the urge to write a story about it do so. I don't believe that anyone would think less of any author who writes about that day.

Thanks for the reinforcement. Did you know that the hottest play in New York right now is "The Mercy Seat" starring Sigourney Weaver? It's about a guy who fakes his death after he survives the World Trade Center because he was having sex with his mistress at her downtown apartment. New Yorkers are a pretty tough bunch.

Take a walk on the wild side!

I didn't know

I didn't know about the play but watched a Law and Order recently where the man took the opportunity to kill his cheating girlfriend after everyone thought she died in the collapse of the towers. He took her hand and her clothes and left them in the rubble and buried her body elsewhere . It was when they found the body that it unraveled Good show. I think I will edit my story and post it here and see what happens

Yes We are

I can't say that I've heard about the play Weaver is in but I will agree that New Yorkers are a tough bunch after all I was born and raised here in New York :)

Hi

If it's done in a sensitive manner and at least some hint of sympathy or understanding for real victims is included no disaster is taboo from being included in a fictional story.

Prepare to be flamed and receive hate mail however.

pops............

Have to apologize my chum, but I find your suggestion to be somewhat distasteful to me. September 11th was a terrible tragedy felt not only by the US, but the rest of the world as well.
You'll have to excuse me, but some things should just not be written about.

You Can't Ignore What Happened

No matter what else happens in this old world of ours, you can't tip toe around it forever. Life must go on no matter what. Yes what happened here in New York was a horror story in and of itself and there were those who did everything they could to take advantage of the situation here, but the "good" hung in there. To some there may be no tasteful way to ever mention Sept.11,2001, but for others they do what they can to get on with life. The familys of the victims :rose: will take many years if ever to find some kind of normalcy in their lives and those who pray I am sure might just say a short word for those who lost loved ones.

In short, if someone wishes to mention September 11,2001 there is nothing wrong with it. Don't for an instant think that of those who died that day there were some who would in all likely hood say, "Keep moving forward, there is still a future to look to."

I think if you do it sensitively then you'll get away with it. If you take the piss or treat it lightly, then you don't have a right to write it.

However that is just my opinion. Go for it.

I agree with cantsayno in total. It will never be long enough to write a successful erotic peice. The only way it would keep you from peril would be use as a passing time reference. As the focal time frame for an erotic work would be asking for all manner of abuse and I would probably be near the head of the line.
Thankyou but no...

However this is just an opinion and everybody is entitled.

9-11?

I would tend to err on the side of caution. That day is still pretty raw in the minds of everyone, especially those who actually lost loved ones that day. Now I did make a passing reference to it in a story I recently did, but only because the protagonist was flying to NY and the vivid mental images from that day were part of her fear factor, and I also referred to her paying her respects at the site while touring the city. But I didn't dwell on it.

Other than that, I would tend to shy away from it. Again, that's just my opinion.

The consensus seems to be that this is dangerous territory, but might be acceptable if the setting is treated with the requisite respect. So I have decided to go for it, and posted a story which takes place entirely on September 11th at Ground Zero . Entitled Dressed for Disaster, it came out on literotica this morning. Needless to say, I have received more than my share of outraged anonomous critiques, even though there is minimal erotic content.

I think it's tastless to write a story for the purposes of sexual titilation based around this or any other mass-murder event.

Write the story. Our society has become engulfed in this "sensitivity" notion, not just on 9-11 but everything these days. Notice how mainstream media quit showing the images soon after 9-11, due to "sensitivity" issues. People need to wake up and quit pretending this never happened. It happened, we grieve, we pray, we move foward and we grow stronger. And above all else, we wake the hell up and realize that there are a great deal of people on the face of this earth that would just assume see you, me, your neighbor, whoever dead. This living in a fantasy land shit has got to stop, reality check people.

9-11 sensitivity

Yeah it’s a tragedy whenever anyone dies, that’s a given. But I for one am sick of the whole lets never mention it again attitude. How immediately after 9-11 all movies containing images of the twin towers postponed releasing the movie in order to remove the images. I hate when people say things like, “I think it's tastless to write a story for the purposes of sexual titilation based around this or any other mass-murder event.”
Other people think its tasteless to write erotica based on defecation. It doesn’t matter how people feel about the subject matter. Its fantasy, people have different fantasies. We all wack it to a different beat.

But keep in mind that a lot of people think like fallen_lover so expect flame. But don’t base your stories around how certain simple minded people may react. Unless of course your going for ratings. In which case lie to them and say the world is peachy and everything ends happily ever after. While were at it never mention anything that could possibly offend someone. Ha ha ha, politically correct erotica. Wow, That sounds exciting!

It don't matter what you write about on the 'Net. No one's gonna stop you from putting it up at places like ASSTR and on your own web space. Lit's pretty liberabal about stuff as well.
