Cool new features. First look...like the "trusted writer", and the ability to delegate story editing. Love the story map view!:dismay: But the page navigation for the multi-page "my threads" and "my stories" is only at the bottom of the page, and it scrolls off the pane. And some text filter took all the double quotes and double-escaped them as " Hey, it's a beta.

I agree with your findings. I also like the 'fresh' stories list of recent updates. I am missing the 'approved' page comments, since it seems to take you right to the regular story page. Maybe when I try to add a thread on the new site?

Yes, the voting is instantaneous, even for pending threads. I thought this was a glitch 'til I read the story permissions and saw the auto-approval allowances. This means abandoned stories, like the Stone Wall Mall, can have their pending threads read. I guess this would be a benefit, in the future, if the autoapproval is filled out on presently opened stories. The editor could be gone and the story lives on. Correct?

well have Mixed opinions. I love the story maps, and I like the feature that lists ALL the stories you've added to. I don't like how plain the whole thing looks. It's ALL white... the WHOLE thing. Will this change? Also, where are the links for the Dissusion Boards? I had to go to the Lit site to get here. I assume they are currently putting the Chyoo2 site online. So I will look forward to the finished product. Excited but worried too.

What happened to the quote marks? Every story I have check so far has bad quote marks in it. I know that the vast majority of the threads I have done were correct and now it will take forever to fix them. I have 345 screwed up threads to fix.
There has to be some global fix for this!!

I hope there's a fix as well, jakelyon. About the same threads sitting there screwed up, too. Okay, I did fix a couple oldies I visited, but I'm not fixing anymore! (maybe). Though I'm glad to see the quotes went through okay on submitted stories since Chyoo2 started, both in an online addition and a word paste. I haven't seen an update on 'fresh stories' tho.
(Dacia, If you really want to be freaked {in a good way,} check out the storymaps for "Choices" and "the Mall" Meanwhile, come, ugh, out of that corner! {tugging at some part of your anatomy} Or, at least move over and let me in with you!)

Well we got everything we wanted. I don't think the new chyoo is missing any features... The quots are going to be a pain. I wonder if we've switched to smart quots now? But it doesn't look like it. Here's my solution for quick fixes...
Copy and paste your thread from Chyoo to Word, then use the editing (find and replace) all the " with " and it'll fix them all up. Then copy and paste it back to Chyoo. Yeah it's a pain. But... it looks better than the before result!
The thread maps are wild! I like them. The ability to edit other people's threads is great too! Now there is no hassle of contacting the person back and forth to fix things I missed! And, there is a YES/NO thing for approving threads. No more accidently aproving crappy threads! You can even delete the rejected threads from your threads!
But there's no COLOUR! That's a bummer... is it coming? And where's Dacia? Have you been hiding in that corner for the last month and a half? We miss you! How have you been? Let us know.

Replacing the quote marks ourselves seems a bit of a pain.
The Discuss/Contact features are of course disabled, and how do you contact the admnistrators and such about an abandoned story? (I'd meant to do this before the changeover, but I've been busy.)

CHYOO's updates came to my attention via a sudden flood of "threads to approve" in my mailbox, all of which turned out to be threads I'd already approved at some point in the past. Must be some kind of glitch.
Well, it's good to see that they CHYOOmasters made good on their promise to deliver version 2. I'm sure they'll fix the cosmetic stuff in due time - it can't be finished yet, as the advertising isn't in place and you know they wouldn't get rid of that. I imagine they've deliberately deactivated the "Contact" feature to keep from getting flooded while they work out remaining bugs that they already know about and fix the appearance.
Lots of good features here. I think we should send thank-you notes when that becomes possible, and perhaps we might also thank them with substance once the ads are back up by visiting the advertised sites a few times and therefore put a little cash in CHYOO's pockets. Let 'em know we appreciate it.
One particularly useful feature is the keyword search. It can be used by the webmasters as well as us, which means they can and will do searches to find pedo stuff. No further need for Jakelyon to lead that crusade!
Regrettably, I must remain in limbo for the time being, as my personal matters have not yet been sorted out and I can still spare no time here. When I do return for "real", it will be with a major splash. I intend to submit at least three threads to about seven different stories when that day comes.

Theres always plenty of room in the corner for everyone. As far as tugging at various parts of my anatomy, I got plenty of that last night. (Along with lots of prodding, pulling and squeezing.)
The one problems that I have come across is when you are approving threads, the view previous thread link is no longer there. It was something I found very useful and I hope they remeber to include it soon.
Like Gystex my time is quite limited on Chyoo although I feel this update my encourage me to get back into things before long.

Wooohooo -joins ya in the corner- But yea...I'm gonna die without that nice lil view previous thread button...ugh! lol...haven't full explored it...and it scared me when it said children on the threads page, but that just means how many links there are to continue that particular thread...lol...
