Is China's economy in trouble or not?

Once you leave the big cities, the roads end, the counting ends, the third world begins and education is a matter of hit and miss.

None of that ever gets reported in the Good Morning Beijing News...
True, but that's the case in every country.

So it is settled. China, like the rest of the global mess, is screwed.

Nobody cares. There are those who want to make money, and then there are those who want to blame their problems on the government. It's been this way for all of recorded history.

True, but that's the case in every country.

The extent and severity vary wildly though.

China's rural population is MUCH closer to 3rd world squalor through far more of it's geography than what you'll find in most of the USA backwoods, Canadian small towns, European countryside, Scandinavian fishing villages etc.

Even then some of our trashiest trailer parks in the most backwater hollers of Tuckey have basic services and utilities that much of China lacks. They might be poor uneducated wage slaves but they still got a double wide, 79" 200k ultra HD TV, Air Conditioning, junk food on demand and a 1997 Chevy Silverado that still runs great so long as you kick the dash just right to get it turning over.

If the government is being oppressive and abusive does the blame not lay with said government though??

It is true. Very few people care. But the suffering that these massive governments bring on others is tragic.

If you read my first post in this thread, I talked about China's growth. Yes, China has a long way to go, but all indications are that it will get there in record time. In the meantime, and because of its growth, it provides some very attractive investment opportunities.

We're all collectively in the same boat.

China Lies. To us, yes. To its people.

To itself, even more, at all costs...

Absolutely. And what dawnonyou just posted is also true. But money runs the world, and if you don't accept how true this is, then you become heavily influenced by political opinion - much of which is absurd.

I work in wealth management. The most difficult part of my job is trying to get clients to see past what their chosen politician says and what is real. For those that will trust our (the company I work for) economic views, they make a lot of money. Those who insist on following their political party don't do nearly as well. It is hard to hear the truth, but if you are willing to face the facts, the world will pay you handsomely. It is that simple.

How is a country just starting a catastrophic population collapse growing??

China is running out of slaves....and from what I understand, the freakishly small number of zoomers they do have? Aren't about that slave life. Many of them are "laying flat" and opting out of the communist slavery scam.

You work in wealth management, but you promote investing in an imploding shit hole ..... you sound more like a CCP shill than a wealth manager.

So your a wealth manager aka corrupt elite democrat voter? Shocker......no seriously I couldn't see this coming.

Hey, join the Democrats! We're the party fighting the elites......lolz

And one other thing...heavy industry is now relegated to the third world. The US is a technology-based economy. There is no going back, and there is little the government can do about it. Please tell your kids to do well in school. In the US, a person with no more than a high school education is in for a hard life. Those jobs will continue to move offshore. It's the only way businesses can compete.

There are ample numbers out there for the dedicated Sinophile to be happy about, all put out by the CCP. While those numbers are not totally out of whack, they are optimistic.

Chinese domestic consumption is not doing well at all reflecting a lack of confidence of the Chinese citizen in their own economy while Europe and the US are decoupling from China.

Foreign investment in China is still contracting and several Chinese stocks are on the verge of being de-listed due to inadequate accounting.

Others have mentioned the demographic problem for which they have no solution.

Actually this is factually untrue. People out of high school can join the trades. The trades are massively in need of people in this country with massive job openings for the trades. There isn't enough to meet the demands anywhere. Only jobs moving off shore are factory jobs which should pay well in the states but cant under the endless regulations that DOGE is about to kill.

I don't follow any political parties. Doing so is stupid.

Trades aren't considered heavy industry. Also, trades require additional learning beyond high school.
