They seem to be in direct proportion to the number of childish threads that have also appeared...

Actually, i really like the "Hi, i'm new and i just wanted to intro myself" kinds of threads. I think it demonstrates a cordial willingness to try to blend into the Lit culture from the beginning, something our most infamous posters have been totally unwilling to do. It's sort of reassuring, then, from that perspective, don't you think?

maybe I'm semi-out of line here, but do any of you people pay attention to the first page, where it says how many people are registered? Do you see those numbers change at all? Because I occasionally do see that the number has changed dramatically from day to day sometimes. In fact there were over 1500 people according to the numbers that have registered this weekend alone. Who in the hell has enough time to register that many names, if it's just one person?

Maybe Laurel and Manu could create a newbies board for us to practice on until we have say... 1000 posts?... then we could come and play with the big boys and girls like yourself.
