With the Germans goverment being so anti the Bush adminstration's plans for Iraq it is ironic that at 11.00 am this morning it will be announced that a German firm of architects have had their design for the WTC site approved.

Personally, I don't see a connection between a German firm and the German government's war position. That would be akin to saying that what ppman says represents all Brits, and we know that is not true.

Liebiskind's sculptural architecture is very individualistic - hardly anything I would connect to dominant German political ideologies.

Futhermore, his most famous work to date is the Holocaust memorial in Berlin - I think his work is very appropriate for the NYC commission.
