I just submitted my first story to this wonderful site and ideas for my next story are bubbling away. Neither stories are extreme, weird or creepy (though I appreciate that is subjective) but the idea of opening up this part of me to my wife has left me at a stumble.

I'd like to hear how other forum member's have tackled this issue.

Well does she read steamy romance novels or like any R-rated movies? Those are similar things that might already be familiar or pleasing to her.

It probably depends on the person, really. With me, I felt comfortable enough in my relationship to be honest and upfront right away, and my wife has been my proofreader since the beginning. And my stories are weird and extreme, it's just that... well, so is she.

I've recently decided to show off my writing to our girlfriend, and I did it in much the same way; I told her that it's something I do, it's important to me, and would she like to be a part of it? She finished reading through my back catalogue a week or so ago.

But we've always been quite open regarding our kinks and such, so I'm aware that probably won't work for everyone. And any specific advice I could give you, OP, would be hampered by the fact that I don't know your wife. Unless she's particularly conservative, or your stories are particularly extreme or kinky, you may not have a problem at all. Maybe try and phrase it as a way to spice up your sex life some?
