Greetings all!

First, let me say how much I've enjoyed the stories here at Lit. There are some fantastic writers!

I've decided to try my hand at telling a few tales and thought I'd introduce myself and encourage feedback. My goal is to eventually try my hand at all of the genres here at Lit, although I'll admit that some will be easier for me than others.

Anyway, I don't want this original post to be too lengthy, I'll continue to share (hopefully) as this thread goes on and I post stories.

Here's my first one, inspired by a real experience. I'm starting relatively tame, I hope you like it!

Oh and one final thing, I welcome feedback both here and via email and would even be willing to consider writing story requests.

Welcome Charlie, good luck with your first story and all subsequent ones as well.

A quick bit of advice. Edit the e-mail out of your post. There is a rule against it. You can have it in your public profile, but not in a thread. Not sure why, but dems the rules.

Charley, I read and voted. That's pretty damn good for first time writer! You have a nice conversational style-- talking directly to the reader, in a distinctive voice. I like the sense of wonderment and surprise that you impart. When you're writing something that happens to so many people, you need to make it stand out-- and it does, because it is a portrait of "you" the narrator as much as it is a narrative.

You have a nice, breezy style.

Welcome to the AH!

Also, you might take a look at the Story Feedback forum and the Story Discussion Circle...good feedback there.

You might want to edit yours as well since you quoted him.

A welcome  for the little newbie from the good little witch.

Hi Charlie! Welcome to the AH! Good luck with all the categories. I don't know if you've seen here but some categories come with resident trolls that no matter how good the writing is will still be obnoxious trolls, so always take reader comments with a grain of salt.

You have a great attitude and nice writing style. Great to have you here. Enjoy yourself!

Welcome, Charlie, and thanks for the enjoyable little tale.
By the way, Charlie, it is required of all newcomers to the AH that they post three photos of themself in the nude - one frontal, one rear, one of your choice. Not for the men here, mind you, (well, maybe for some of them), but more for the lady-folk. You can take them down after a week; that should give everyone who's interested enough time to download the pics.

He forgot to mention you can conceal your face on those pics. Not because of anything wrong with you, but so you can keep a certain amount of anonimity.

Thanks all for the welcome and feedback.

I was hoping this would be a welcoming community and I'm not disappointed!

I have a second story waiting approval so I'll do an intro to that one once it's posted.

OH TIO...I missed your sock puppet pic. :p

Thank you by the way, I did not know this and I've edited it out!

Lovecraft doesn't seem to be fully aware of it either. He's left it in his quote (even though someone else pointed to it and suggested he should also delete it).

Okay, wow, that took a little longer than I thought...

I had a few minor issues with my next story but it's now up on the site...

It's called falling off track and it was actually the first story I wrote for Lit, I had just never submitted it.

When I got here to Lit, it seemed like every married person professed to be in either the world's greatest sexual relationship... or a completely dead marriage sexually. There seemed to be no in-between and so this story was kind of inspired by my desire to put out there as a somewhat "normal" marriage when it came to sex. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not... sometimes you find the time, sometimes it seems like there's never time.

A great deal of the story focuses on the protagonists thoughts and it's a relatively tame story, but I guess I like it for what it is.

Oh and a piece of Charlie trivia... I actually wrote two endings to this story because the first ending just, I don't know, didn't work for me. So what you'll see is the second ending.

As always I enjoy your feedback and thanks for reading.

Does anyone use a twitter account here to contact/share with other Lit writers?

I've just started one (charliegehrig) but I'm a bit of a twitter idiot...

Also have a few stories in the works!

I really enjoyed your first story and look forward to further ones. I only hope my first story is as good and as well received.

Thanks Beth, I appreciate the kind words.

Can I ask one of the more veteran Literoticans something?

I'm a little confused about some of the comments I'm receiving. I know there are trolls who will hate, I get that, I'm a message boards of all kinds veteran. But there seem to be some people implying that I did something "wrong" with my most recent story.

Are they saying I should've added a "cuckold" tag? Because quite frankly, I don't see this as a cuckold story at all.

No. And, no, it is not a cuckold story at all. First of all, people are liable to say anything after reading stories in the Loving Wife category. If you did anything "wrong" it was posting a story in LW when the sex involves only a married couple. Almost all LW stories should be called Cheating Wives or Swinging Wives.

Heh! Nice one, Charlie. Welcome to Lit and the AH. :D

Your story is definitely in the E/V cat, although it would fit nicely in the 'Erotic Couplings' cat too.
