Into darkness

"don't worry about the dress. I think the man who made it would gladly make you several more. Although, he might just have raided an old closet." The Beast looks down at her. He bends down and offers the woman a hand.

"Would you like to go tour the castle now? It is very large and I hope to make your stay as enjoyable as I can. I don't want to you be upset about staying here with me."

"I'm not upset at being here with you."

speaking softly while slowly and a bit hesitant towards his offering hand, soon she slipped her small into his and stood up next to him.

Sashya felt something that shes never felt before as her hand held his, it shot through her body making her shiver slightly and then blush slightly with how it felt. Lowered her face to hide the flush she knew colored her cheeks.

"My name is Sashya and I would love a tour of the castle."

The Beast smiles, keeping his lips closed. He offers her an elbow and raises her face towards his. "There is no reason to be embarased. This place is thei finest castle in the world or at least it used to be."

The Beast leads her back into the castle, slowly leading her through a thorn filled garden. At the end, he stops for a second and then leads her through the main doors, each taller than he is by several feet. "Welcome to the Swanson Castle. This was once the grandest castle in the world before an incident two hundred years ago. It once could entertain everyone within several days ride. There used to be parties at least once a month and you were a nobody if you weren't here."

The Beast opens the doors and lead her into the giant entrance hall. He leads her through it, telling little facts about all the artifacts until they reach a small archway at the other end. "Through here are guest rooms. Now we have to find one you like. THere is a huge selection of all kinds. Which ever one you wnat, you can have for your entire stay."

Sashya was amazed with each room he took her. Soaking in all the information as he spoke of each room and their stories. After some time she was forgetting that she was now bound to this castle, bound to him by some curse.
The excitement was clear to Thomas as he saw the brightness in her eyes, the way she would point out things that she liked.

When it came time to pick out a room for her to stay in, she had a hard time chosing a room. They were all so beautiful and huge, only rooms that she could only dream of ever having.

"I like this one."

It was dark just like she liked her room to be, when she opened the heavy drapes of the window, it gave a perfect veiw of the gardens out back and the rolling mountains beyond. What made her like it best was the wood dresser and the bed frame, the designs on them were so remarkable.

"I think I'll chose this room."

The Beast smiled at her choice of rooms. "This is a great choice. These were once the rooms saved for only visiting royalty."

He motions to the door and about a hundred servants fly in, all carrying cleaning equipment. "Would you like to see the rest of the Palace while thse clean the room a bit better?"

He offers an elbow to her to lead her out. They both see several servants out in the gardens trying to resurect their once beautiful plants.

"For royalty? And its mine now?"

Didn't expect it to be for the royals.
Sashya jumped back and against Thomas as the servants came rushing in, she knew they were around of course, but to have that many come rushing up behind and past her spooked her for a moment.

Peers through the door watching them for a second before hearing his offer. Smiled at him, still amazed at how fast they were cleaning the room.

"Aye, I would love to see the rest of this place. Its so huge and amazing here."

She took his offered arm once more and followed him, taking another glance over her shoulder towards the room.

"those rooms might once have been home to royality when they visit here but I think there current ocupant will keep life in this castle much more interesting than it has been in very long time." The Beast smiles as he leds her into the hall.

The Beast leads her back through the giant entrance hall. During the time they were in the room, several pieces of glass had been cleared off although servants occasionally cover the openings. The two walk through the hall and up the stairs. "This way is the library. Every book which could be found lies in our library."

He leads her to a pair of huge doors which he opens.

(sorry, missed this response somehow. /boggle..)

~~~~~~~~~~~
Sashya smiled as he spoke of the room she had chose, teling her that she would be keeping the life in castle interesting. She wasn't quite sure how, to her, she seemed pretty boring and simple. After a thought or about it, realized that things have changed for her, perhaps her life wouldn't be so ... pathetic..
"A library? Well, I suppose a castle this wonderful would have something like that. Not many people like books though, wasn't expecting...."
once he opened the doors to the huge room full of books, her jaw felt like it hit the floor and her eyes grew wide. Shook her head trying to gain her composure back some. Slowly slipped from his arm and began to slowly explore the room, her fingers lightly roaming over books. Picking up a book here and there that caught her attention.
"I can't describe it, its, its so wonderful here. And now this... All these books.."
The Beast smiles at her joy at finding the books. "Look at which ever you want. They are all available to you. Take whichever you wish to your room to read. The servants know the shelving well and will replace them to their proper place when you are finished with them. If you wish to discuss any of these grand novels, I have read a great many of them, just ask a servant to tell me.
"I must go now, several other concerns have arrisen today and I must go attend to them. I hope to join you this evening for a elegant diner after our abrupt lunch. Please accept my apologies." Without waiting for her response, he turns and leaves the library through a smaller door. He runs all the way to his study and summons several servants, taking charge of the cleaning of this place as is proper.
Just as she turned around he was gone, the door closing being the only thing she sees. Spent several moments pondering if she should go exploring on her own, possibly go seek out his room and get a better idea of who he really was.... is.. used to be.. Sashya didn't know anymore, this whole overwhelmed her beyond anything she could dream of.
It was a war between staying here with all these books, there was no way she could pick just one book. Then again, she had her whole life here now and these books would be here. So would the rest of the castle, had her whole life to explore the unknown secrets this place held, hidden and secret door ways.
Sighed, didn't want to spoil everything on her first real day here. It didn't take her long at all to find her first book, it had white leather cover on it, a fantasy book she has never read before with dragons and wizards.
Didn't bother going back to her room. Already began to the read the book and she still didn't know this place well enough to read and walk at the same time. Looked around for a moment, seeing some huge, double doors leading outside. Also saw a fire place that was along a wall away from all the books, it was there that she chose to sit and read.
After a few hours went by, one of the servants stared at Sashya as she read, unsure of how to disturb her.
"M'lady, I hate to disturb you... But, dinner will be ready in an about two hours. If you wish to freshen up, a bath has been provided and a fresh dress."
Sashya looked up from her book for the first time since she began reading it. Noticing how it was darker outside, the fire she sat next to has dimmed down some.
Without a word she stood up and went to her room, seeing the steam coming from the bath tub, candles surrounded it making it look so inviting. Peeked around to make sure that there were no servants or anyone to spy in on her.
In a few moments she finally got out of the dress, stepped out of it and draped it neatly over a chair, not wanting it to be on the floor and soon she was sinking down into the hot bath water.
OOC: Sorry I took so long to respond. School caught up.
IC: The Beast had gone to his study and got the servants to clean the palace. After a while, he had the cook start supper. His instructions were simple. "Make a good meal, which should please our guest."
He cleaned out his study himself and then went arround locking a few doors, knowing his guest might get curious and go exploring. He also set guards arround the room where the mirror and a few other important things of his were kept. He locked everyway into the room.
He also had several servants prepare a room for her to refreshen and then went to refreshen himself. Once he was ready, he went to the dining hall to await the woman.
Sashya came walking down the stairs slowly, wasn't at all used to these fancy dresses and shoes. The red with gold trim flowed out behind her as she held the front up above her feet so she wouldn't trip. The servants put matching red and gold ribbons into the half pony tail of her hair, letting the rest of it cascade down her back.
When Sashya saw the Beast.... Thomas... She couldn't help but look away. It wasn't that he was bad to look at, more of it had to do with how she was dressed. Felt like she was a princess, also felt like the servants over dressed her... all this fuss just for dinner?
Thomas watches her enter with fastination. He had dressed in his best cloak and slacks. With his large chest, he could not seem to get a tunic to fit right. He walks over to her and offers his hand. "I see my servants have done you no justice. This dress only begins to show your beauty. Do you feel as uncomfortable in it as you look?"
Thomas leads her to the table as he speaks, pulling out her chair when they get there.
Looked up and caught his eyes before they started towards the table.
"No, I'm comfortable.... just, not used to this kind of attention or this style of dressing is all."
Sashya was really seeing Thomas as if for the first time as he took his place at the table. All this time she's been lost in her own thoughts and fears. Wondering just how to handle her new future. And now she finally had the chance to see him for who he really was. Or at least seek out his intentions.
Through his eyes, Sashya was able to see the man behind the Beast. Someone who has over the years forgotten about the true man, letting this beast take over on some level. Noticing how he ate raw, or at least cooked enough to have it hot.
His features were not that bad either.... considering... The few times shes' held his arm, his fur was like velvet. Well groomed, neatly dressed.. For a beast, he didn't seem all that bad at all.
They ate in silence. Once the meal done she had an idea, whispered something to a servant and just has the servant vanished, Sashya stood up, walking towards Thomas.
"Care to join me in a dance?"
she was bit timid in asking him, but for some reason, Sashya just needed to be near him. Perhaps even feel the comfort of his embrace if the moment allowed it.
Thomas watched her say something to a servant. The servant left at a run. He saw him waving for lots of other servants as he went. When she offered a dance, he knew what had sent him running. "I would love to dance with you. We might want to give the servants a while to finish cleaning the grand ballroom. I did not think you would want to dance with me this soon, so its not cleaned yet."
Thomas smiled and got up. "We could either wait here or go to the library and discuss some of your reading. I do think the cooks would be delighted to serve desert if you would like some."
Slightly disappointed about the dance, but it faded when he mentioned going to the library. It wasn't the fact that she plain and simply loved the library, it more of the idea of sitting near him next to the fire place without any distruptions. Thomas made her curious now, it intrigued her of how he has managed to live like this for long. How he has managed to stay hidden from any stories told. Did he not ever roam the forest? Granted his servants were trapped here as souls if they left, but what about him? The Master of the castle, would the same fate happen to him?
All these questions started forming left and right and her curiosity grew. But, they never escaped her lips, at least not knowing how she would look or act asking so many questions at once like that.
"Desert in the library then? We can sit by the fire place and find out more about eachother. Or if your all that interested, we can talk about the book I was reading."
He could see a sparkle in her eyes, something that wasn't there when she first came to the castle. Sashya figured that she was going to be here for a very long time, that it was just best to make things start on the right foot rather than fight it. She didn't have to here with him, could have easily denied him and locked herself in the room. But later down the road, she knew she had to at least make friends with him now. Sashya wasn't a hateful person and live in the same place while hating someone.... something... Wasn't her style.
"Shall we go... The servants can take their time in the ballroom... I hadn't realized it was not finished yet.... I just wish to ....."
fell silent a moment, unsure of why or how it would sound to him, let alone what he would think.
"I just wish to be with you right now.... Whether it be in a dance or in the library. Or even walking out in the moonlit garden, does not matter.... I do not wish to hate you.. It is something I just can not do..."
looked away from him, ashamed for admitting such things so soon. Especially when she couldn't explain it herself.
"I just wish to be with you right now.... Whether it be in a dance or in the library. Or even walking out in the moonlit garden, does not matter.... I do not wish to hate you.. It is something I just can not do..."
Thomas smiled at her timidity. He reached out and left her face back up to look at his. He looked deeply into her eyes. "There is nothing to be ashamed of. You might be here for a very long time. It would be very hard to live here if we had any disagreements. So, the library and desert for a while? The servants will be working on the grand ballroom for quite some time yet."
He turns slightly and waves a serving boy over. His whispers to the boy who turns and walks towards the kitchen. Steve turns arround again and looks back at Sashya and offers his elbow. "Shall we go sit by the fire? It should be roaring now, even alone such as it is."
