Intertwining Souls (closed)

Sula laid down on the blanket with her hands splayed on her stomach and her eyes staring at the sky which was so similar to her home world. Sula smiled. "I would. It's been a long time since a man hasn't taken advantage of a situation we were just in." Than Sula had a sinking feeling. What if Senji was a kid? She felt the color drain from her face. Did she ... just ... do a teasing test ... on a KID?!

"Senji how old are you?" Sula sat up and saw the long claws on Senji's back and she blanched. What the hell did that to him? If he was a kid shouldn't someone had protected him? Oh my. Senji hadn't moved. Sula wasn't sure if she should touch him or leave him be, but he was starting to freak her out.

"Senji?" Sula waited a moment and crawled slowly towards him. She was at the edge of the sleeping bag. Was Senji some sort of crazy teenage psycho killer? All sorts of crazy thoughts raced through her. Who would send a kid out on their own days away from any sort of civilization?! "SENJI?!"

He blinked for a moment as her yelling of his name brought him back to reality.

"Sorry about that. Kinda got lost in my thoughts."

He glanced back at her with a sheepish grin. He turned back to look over the water once more.

"I thought I caught sight of something that didn't look right in the clouds, but it was my imagination. Oh, and I am 23 years old, since you were wondering."

He moved behind one of the rocks, stripping off the rest of his clothes and throwing them over the rocks.

"You can go ahead and grab some sleep if you want. I'll try not to take long."

There was a splash as he dove into the water. He rose to the surface a few moments later, swimming to sit beneath the waterfall.

Sula watched him slowly turn to him and grin. She had to control her crazy thoughts. He was the only one that could help her at this point. She nodded understanding completely how one's thoughts could take one's attention away. Hell, once she got a moment to just think she was sure she would be oblivious to everyone around her too. Right now, she had to stay in the present and focus on surviving.

"At least your not a crazy kid," Sula said to herself as Senji continued stripping. She immediately turned her back and gave him the same privacy he gave her no more than a few moments ago.

"I can't sleep. Unless this is where we're camping for the night." Which would be a waste of time in her opinion. They hadn't gone anywhere. "I rather we get on with it as soon as you're done bathing. Plus before I can sleep I .. uh would need to hunt or something. The jerky was great, but enough to just sate my appetite for the moment. I would like to get to a store or a restaurant or something and get some real food. By the way what do you all use as currency here? Do you have a trading system? How do I ... what do I ... How would I..."

Sula couldn't think anymore. What was she going to do? She was an alien. Would his government try to kill her? Accept her? Help her? How would she survive? Oh man this was almost too much so Sula pushed another thought to the back of her mind to think on later.

He had heard most of what she had asked before he dove in, but didn't respond to her yet. As he sat beneath the waterfall, he kept his eyes closed as the water cascaded over him. His thoughts wander as he enjoyed the cold water over his body. Things were definitely not what he had expected once he was out on his own. He certainly never expected to meet someone from another country, let alone outside the planet. He figured that he should go see his dad soon, but didn't know when.

He shook his head as more questions than answers rose in his mind, standing up in the waterfall. He took a few moments to clean himself before swimming out to a small ledge behind the rocks. He gave a little whistle for a moment and smiled when he heard Shell chirp in response. The little dragon picked up the towel Sula had used to dry off with and dropped it on his head. He dried off quickly and dressed himself again before stepping out into view once more.

"I kinda figured the jerky wouldn't be enough, so I pulled those apples out for you. They might last a little longer. I'll try to get us back to civilization as quick as I can. We can go hunting when we camp for the night then."

He gave a little smile to her before he moved to his stuff, pulling everything back on.

Sula was trying to get her mind in order. Every question she came up with had to be pushed away for either fear of crying hysterically, laughing hysterically, or just plain going hysterical. She had to be strong. Figure things out. Survive. Her pep talk was only good for a few moments before some thought or another would enter her head and then she was back to being a scared little girl wanting desperately to go home.

Sula heard a whistle and turned turned towards the sound. She saw that dragon thingy drop a towel. It was caught before it could touch the ground so Sula assumed it was Senji. She wondered what he was doing and she moved off the blanket and towards the side until she was just around the rock when she saw skin. Sula quickly ran back to the towel. She wasn't sure what she had thought he was doing, but getting dressed hadn't been her first thought. She was just happy she hadn't seen him naked, just enough to know he was probably naked.

As soon as she was on the blanket he was walking towards her and talking. She tried to look like everything was normal and not like she had just almost been caught peeping on him. She hadn't meant too. "Oh uh thanks." Sula took an apple and held the other two for Senji and what she thought would go to Shell. Sula took a deep bite and moaned. "It's sweet; sweeter than I've ever tasted and juicy. Oh my this is the best damn apple I've ever had."

Sula tried to help Senji wrap everything up, but she was enjoying this apple too much. She couldn't believe how good it was and it made all other apples she's ever tasted taste bitter. Before long the apple was chomped down to the core and she was debating trying to eat that as well when she noticed it was time to go. She decided to not eat the core and she tossed it to the ground. She saddled next to Senji. "This way I presume."

He took the two apples and raised an eyebrow for a moment. He chuckled for a moment, but didn't say anything. He slipped them back into a sidepocket, saving them for later. He wasn't hungry, so he decided to save them for later.

"I'm glad you liked the apples. They came from one of the trees back home, I think."

He wasn't completely sure about that, but he figured his father wouldn't have done that much, at least. His father had only packed enough for three or so days, so he probably knew exactly what he was doing. He shook his head for a moment, but smiled when she came up beside him, ready to head.

"Yes, that's the way to go."

Shell chirped in agreement and flew off ahead of them. He tried to keep a decent pace for Sula, not completely sure if she was used to this sort of traveling.

"Let me know if we are going too fast or slow, and I'll adjust the pace. I'm sure you do have questions as well, so feel free to ask all you want."

Sula smiled at his comment thinking the trees back home must have some sort of special fertilizer or something to make apples that good. Or else this planet's fruit was delicious. Well, the apples were. "Yes, they are very good. ... You think?" Sula raised an eyebrow, but didn't ask him to elaborate. She wasn't sure if she wanted to know the answer.

Sula walked along content at the pace they were going hoping they didn't have to make camp, but would get to town. Even if he said it was about 3 days before they would reach civilization maybe if they walked fast enough they'll get their sooner.

"Uh sure," Sula said hearing his prompt for her to get some questions off her chest. "Well do you guys get aliens here alot, because you're not surprise seeing me or saving me from a space ship? What kind of currency do you use and the trading system?" Sula got a sense of de ja vu as if she had asked or thought of these questions before. She had more, but thought she wouldn't bombard him, but let him explain things and turn this into a conversation of some sort.

Senji was quiet for a few moments as he thought of the best ways to answer the questions. He wondered how he best could elaborate on how best to equate her arrival being any different from any of the other ways his world was screwy. Well, he could gather that his world was different from hers in many ways.

"Well, let me try and come up with the best way to explain things...Ok, I think I have it. Have you ever heard of summoning techniques?"

He looked over at her for a moment. He only gave a little nod when he noticed the look of confusion on her face.

"That's kinda what I thought. Your reactions earlier towards Shell pretty much told me the same thing. It's a type of magic technique that mages use to break the barriers between our world, the human world, and the demon world. Mages use the summoning techniques to bring forth different kinds of demons to do their bidding. However the techniques are extremely risky if done improperly, and have caused damage in the past. So, ships falling from the sky really isn't any different. Though yours was probably the first..ever I think."

It probably didn't make sense to her, but it was the best way he knew to explain it. He could tell it was still confusing for her, so he decided to move on.

"Um...Don't worry about it too deeply. I'm sure you'll understand sometime soon. As for currency, we use Fol."

He reached into a small pouch hanging off the side of his backpack for a moment. He pulled out five gold-looking coins and held them out in his palm.

"We did have electronic currency a few years back, but most of our electrical systems was fried in the Demon War."

Sula listened, but was quite flabbergasted. So this sort of thing happened... all the time. Okay, so at least she didn't have to worry about being taken hostage by the government or anything like that. She was nodding feeling okay with everything when her brain did a sudden screech. "DEMONS?! WHAT?!"

Sula stopped moving. "Okay. So you have dragons that can talk like humans and demons. Demons that ..." Sula couldn't think. She couldn't move. This was so freaking bizarre. If she wasn't staring at a Dragon she would have thought Senji was fucking with her, but he had made his sword spit some sort of magic before. And ... Sula blinked quickly.

"Where the hell am I?" She was sure she had asked this before, but she had forgotten. This wasn't right. "I'm dead aren't I? I died and went to ... hell? But I'm a good person. Sure I've done my list of sins, but hell. Really?" Sula was more comfortable talking about her death and ending up in hell than this fantasy movie world that she could comprehend. Nor electric money. She liked the shiny gold coins, but he mentioned a demon war and she was back to muttering about hell.

"Are you a succubus? Is that why I'm so damn attracted to you?" It all made sense. He was a demon from hell. She was in hell. And he was here to ... take her soul? No, wait. She was already in hell so they had it, but he wanted something from her. But what?

When she had stopped walking, he continued a few more feet before he stopped as well. He was paying attention to what she was saying, but her reactions were throwing him off. He turned and looked at her, his right eyebrow raised for a moment as he stared at her silently for several seconds. He definitely didn't expect the reactions or statements she was giving him. He blinked for a moment at the mention of her being attracted to him.

"Wait..What?"

He shook his head for a moment as he continued to try and make sense of her rambling.

"No, this not hell. I may have been out cold for several days, but I know this is not hell. And I am very much human. There nothing demon in me....And did you just say that you were attracted to me?"

Shell swooped down to perch on a tree branch a few feet from them, tilting her head questioningly. Senji sighed and put his left hand over his face, bowing his head for a moment. Things had just gone from strange to very weird for him. He wasn't sure what to make of this situation at the moment. He sighed and lowered his hand as he looked at her once more.

"Standing out here in the middle of the forest isn't exactly the best place to try and figure this out. Let's keep moving."

He gave a half-hearted smile to her for a moment before turning and continuing the same way they had been going. He had the strangest feeling that things would get even stranger for them.

"Hell," Sula said slowly. Was she not supposed to have figured it out this quickly? Senji seemed to just stare at her and she started to have the sinking feeling that she was on a different planet with different rules and technology and she was starting to look like a crazy person. Than again this still could be hell and he was trying to trick her. Either way she was on to him. Wait. That did sound like the thinkings of a crazy person. In hell! Sula giggled at her thoughts which seemed to be a cue for Senji to explain some things to her.

"Wait. You're human? Like I'm human? Is your human the same as my human, because my human can't make their sword go all magic ba-baoom! Hey! You're focused on the wrong thing. You're very cute and sweet, protective, and thoughtful. I'm sure you have girls all over you and I don't need to raise your ego anymore. We need to focus. ... Does this mean we could have babies? Are your body parts like mine? I mean not like mine but you have a penis and all? I mean we could copulate and I wouldn't die or something?!"

This was so strangely cool. She was on another planet with aliens and found out she could fuck! Who didn't want to travel to another planet and fuck some strange alien. It was a dark fantasy, but one almost every space cadet had. Too bad the aliens looked almost like anyone back home, but ... maybe they do it different? Or have some sort of magic involved too. Sula was half listening to Senji as she walked. He had started moving and naturally she did too. She was so lost in thought.

"Hey, you now how you worked that magic thingy with your sword? Could you do it with your other sword? You know that one down there." Sula was looking at his cock. "Oh and what do your woman look like? Are they like me or bustier, sexier, uglier. I kinda hope they're uglier." Sula didn't mean to ramble, but her brain was trying to cope with all the new information and a great way to do that was eliminate the brain mouth filter and think it through.

He groaned softly as things did turn from strange into even more stranger. She was asking him things he wasn't even sure the right questions for someone who had just landed on a strange planet less than a few hours ago. He didn't say anything, as they walked, just continuing to let her ramble off her questions. It wasn't that her questions were wrong, they just seemed odd to him for the time being.

He muttered softly under his breath for a moment.

"I think my old man had a really warped sense of humor."

He gave a little smile to Sula for a moment as she continued to stare over at him. He knew exactly where she was looking, and he was trying his best to overlook it. He stared back forward as they walked, trying to come up with the best way to answer her.

"I'm trying not to be rude, but I need to gather my thoughts for a moment on the best fitting answer you are looking for. Easy questions, but...yea..."

He trailed off for a bit as he watched Shell dart through the trees several yards ahead of them.

"Fine don't answer the anatomy questions. I'll figure them out later." Sula kept walking as her mind went through all the various thoughts and scenarios. Than something he said snapped into place in her mind.

"Why were you out cold for a few days?" She thought she had remembered him briefly saying something about that before but ... she couldn't remember exact details.

"Were you like a bad person or did bad people do these things to you? Shall we get the police involved? Do you have a police?" Sula knew she was asking so many questions, but she didn't know anything. How was she to learn if she wasn't given the correct information.

Senji chuckled softly for a moment. He really knew how to pick them. He shook his head for a moment to clear his head before coming up with the best way to answer her.

"Well, the capital city has a police force, but that's pretty much it for the island. I'm not really sure about the other nations at the moment. Haven't been caught up on their politics."

He shrugged softly for a moment.

"Politics are really my thing. As far as needing them, no need for them. I know exactly what happen and it's more along the lines of a life lesson from my dad than anything. I'm pretty sure he drugged one of my drinks with a somewhat powerful sleeping potion, so I don't know exactly how long I was out.No need to worry about it."

Shell chirped in agreement from ahead of them before darting up into the canopy for awhile. He hmmed softly as he examined the shadows along the forest floor as they walked.

"We should stop for camp in a couple of hours."

Sula did not understand most of what was said at first. She had to slowly think on every bit he was saying. She got they had a police, but something about other nations and their politics. That went right over her head. Not because she didn't understand other nations and politics, but because she couldn't understand why he wouldn't know if they a police system and why would mentioned them. Unless as they walked they would be walking through other nations kinda like old timey. Interesting and weird.

"So politics are your thing? You're a politician," Sula spoke slowly as she walked. She was making sure she understood correctly and what she could gleamed from his weird confession was that his dad was an asshole.

"You poor thing. You're father did this to you. How horrible." Sula was sure this wasn't a good thing. Though Senji seemed pretty nonchalant about it. Maybe this sort of thing happened to him all the time. How weird.

"Yeah ...camp." Nothing would be better, except better food and a warm bed. Oh how she missed a bed.

Senji chuckled softly for a moment and shook his head.

"Sorry, I misspoke. I meant politics aren't my thing. I really don't pay much attention to that kind of stuff."

He took a few minutes to search for a suitable clearing before shrugging off his backpack. He hmmed for a moment as he searched through the backpack for a few moments before speaking.

"Well, it looks like we'll be sleeping under the stars tonight. It shouldn't get too cold, but I'll let you have the sleeping bag if it does."

He laid the rolled up sleeping bag out before pulling out a couple of blankets. He laid his sword and armor next to the backpack, standing up to stretch for a few moments. Shell chirped for a moment before flying off into the forest. She returned a few minutes later, dropping a pile of sticks in the middle of the clearing. Senji spook as he began arranging the sticks into a suitable form for a fire.

"Do you mind telling about where you are from?"

Sula nodded. Okay, so politics weren't his thing. Than why'd he bring it up. What did it mean? Why were the police force a politic thing? So many questions. So little answers. Hell, so weird to ask and comprehend. She watched him look around wondering what he was doing than she realized he was making camp like he had said earlier.

"I don't mind that. Back home you couldn't see the stars unless you were in the academy. There was a huge war some millenia back and it coated the sky with a thick smoke. Only the academy was in a smoke free zone and high enough to be past the smoke. This is beautiful and perfect. " She climbed on top of the sleeping bag and laid out.

"Sure what do you want to know? I come from the milky way a planet called Eurth. Uh, we're humans, and life is pretty normal." She laughed. What was consider normal. "Let's play 20 questions. I ask 3 questions and you have to answer 3 of them and ask me 3. This way we get to learn from each other. You go first. What 3 questions do you have?"

He continued to tend to building the fire pit as he listened to her talk. He grabbed some matches from a side pocket and checked them for a moment. They were undamaged and dry, which he was glad for. He could have started the fire the old fashioned way, by rubbing sticks together, but it would have taken longer. He stuck one, lighting it. He held it for a moment before applying the flame to the kindling, letting it catch. He blew on the tiny flame for a few seconds before sitting back up.

"That sounds fair. Give me a moment."

A few more moments and he had a small fire going. He nodded, satisfied at the work. He moved to the blanket, sitting cross-legged as he faced her.

"Do you have any more of those ships? How did you get chosen? What are the schools like on your world?"

Sula waited as patiently as her impatience allowed. She was almost at the end and was going to blurt her 3 questions when he finally asked her something. Her mouth dropped. She wasn't expecting that. It was so ... mundane or was it? Now that she thought about it it seemed very strategic. What if he was the sort that could have her planet located and destroyed. He was a nice guy, but she had to be on her guard.

"We do have more ships. I applied to be aboard that ship. And what kind of schools are you talking about. We have many, many different kinds like school that you go to get your basics. Than you go to another school to get your expertise in whatever field you want. Okay my turn."

Sula forgot her 3 questions. "Oh, How do you make money? Would I be able to find work here? Would someone be able to help me get home?" The last question was the most important. The first 2 were in case she was stuck here.

He grabbed a loose stick and rubbed it back and forth in the dirt as he listened to her answers. He hmmed softly for a moment as he tried to think of the best way to answer her questions. He wasn't exactly an expert on everything, but he could tell her what he knew to the best of his knowledge.

"As far as making money for me, I was planning on joining the adventurer's guild. That is once I make my way to Solien, the southern town on the island. The main branch office is there. That's also where the family inn, but I don't want to get into that right now."

He stopped for a moment to look up at the stars, looking at the full moon. He frowned for a moment as he wondered if he was going to have the same dream as he usually did. He shook his head softly for a moment and looked over at Sula with a little smile.

"As far as jobs go, it's divided between the mundane and magical. Mundane jobs include stuff like blacksmiths, farmers, undertakers, science stuff, and other non magical things. Magical jobs are just that, magic, like magic teachers, and other stuff I don't understand about myself. Even other jobs blend the line between magical and mundane, like adventurers."

He leaned back against his pack as he threw the stick into the fire as he continued to speak.

"As far as finding someone to help you, there maybe a chance by going to one of the other contintents. We used to have a space program and computers before the Demon War. I have no idea how much things have been fixed since then."

He was quiet for a few moments as he thought of his next three questions to ask her. At the same time, he took in her features as the firelight played over them, admiring her beauty.

"Do you have any magic from where you came from? What are your plans if you can't find a way back home? Do you think you would be able to become a part of my world?"

Sula naturally wanted to ask about the Family inn. It took a lot to respect his privacy and not ask anything about that. Besides from what she could tell his father was a dick. So it was any wonder he didn't want to talk about the family that drugged him and left him in the middle of the forest with crazy killing animals to fend for himself. She found his answers gave a lot of information, but also created a lot more questions. Hell, she hoped he wasn't sleepy, because they could play a few more rounds before she felt she would be satisfied.

"Magic? Not like your thinking. Our magic is tricks and not real like yours." She paused thinking of his next question. "If I can't find a way back home I guess I'm stuck here. I would integrate myself into this world and try to do something useful and worthwhile. Though I know I'll miss my family back home. I hope they don't think I'm dead."

That made Sula paused for a moment. Her mother, father, everyone would be devastated. Or at least she thought they would be. "I guess I already answered your last question. I think I could become a part of your world if I had too."

"Okay my turn. How do you ... do magic? What is an adventurer exactly and will you help me in my quest of going back home?

He watched the flames dance in the fire for a few moments as he thought about her questions. Shell flew in from somewhere in the shadows behind him and dropped a small pile of sticks next to him. She gave a chirp for a moment before perching on an overhead branch.

"Good girl."

He tossed a couple of sticks on the fire before looking over at Sula.

"Well, what I do is just a small variation on magic. It's more of special techniques, which utilize a small portion of magic. Unlike pure mages, who can use magic in a variety of different spells, I can only focus a certain type of magic through my sword skills. Umm...I not really certain how to explain it very well."

He paused for a few seconds longer, thinking of more explanation for her.

"I guess an adventurer is somewhere between a mercenary and well-paid explorer. They range through different classes, like a warrior such as myself, mages, archers, healers, or other variations. A group of adventurers will usually get together and go on different types of quests. They will go on quests to retrieve very rare items or even go after someone very powerful."

He closed his eyes for a moment as he tried to think of a good example to explain to her. He opened his eyes for a moment and gave a weak smile.

"The final days of the Demon War would be a good example. A small group of four, including my father, mother, and two of their friends, went on a quest to stop The Major demon who had nearly wiped out life on our planet. They stopped him and killed him. I don't remember everything they received in reward, but the family inn was one thing my mother and father received. And yes, I would help you in trying to get back to your world, if that's what you want."

He smiled a little wider to her and threw the stick he was playing with on the fire. He moved from beside the fire and stretched out on his blanket, looking up at the stars.

"What sort of fighting skills do you have? Do you have any special skills? Does this world make you feel any different than yours?"
