You can light a candle in memory of all our children, grandchildren and siblings
on Sunday 9th December 2007 at 7pm.

As the candles shone in the various time zones around the world,
a circle of light spread around the globe,
as people worldwide remember their loved ones.

If you wish to view the Memorial Page for this event on the USA site, please visit:-

In the UK the website is

http://www.tcf.org.uk/
and head for the news section.

It is an annual event aimed at ensuring the children we love who have died are remembered at a special moment in time across the world

:rose: For you Shy, and thanks for letting us know of this small gesture we can make and share with you.

The Compassionate Friends site seems a very supportive place and I have spoken to people who have built a strong support network due to this site, but for me it is just too hard to read the boards and information.

Even if I had not lost my own son, seeing thread after thread of people hurting, supporting each other and trying to make sense of things that have no sense to attach to them, is just too hard.

I guess I am giving prior warning that it is a difficult site to sit and look at regardless of what loss you have had in your life.

I know there are people on Lit who have lost children, grand children, siblings and young friends.

I love the concept that just one candle in each country shows compassion on an international level and allows people quiet time to remember how wonderful their child was.

A candle does not bring them back, but it does shine a light on their memory.
