Interests that span generations

Lay's Potato Chips, can be enjoyed by multigenerational, multicultural, and multi-sexual proclivity individuals.

Star Wars makes sense because it's a "franchise" that's been around for a long time. Same thing with Lord of the Rings, in books and movies.

Movies in general, especially movies from the 40s through the 90s.

Science fiction seems to be something that many authors here are interested in, across the generations. I think there's some sort of connection between sci fi and erotica, in terms of interest. I think it's because it continues to be relevant and interesting and stirs the imagination as much as ever. There's also a kink/fetish thing. The kind of person who's into sci fi is probably more likely to be somebody who's into kink.

When I first came to live with my Family, my Daddy's mother was in a rest home suffering from Alzheimer's. When she met me, Dad explained I was Mum and his foster daughter. She couldn't grasp the concept for some reason.

"She's got a dark complexion. Sure she isn't your daughter by the negro you dated back in the 70s?"

"No, Mom, we didn't have any kids."

"She's right, pretty. Sure she isn't your real child?"

This exchange happened every time we visited her. She never remembered from one time to the next. I was impressed by how patient everyone was with her. Sometimes, she thought my Dad was his father. Then she'd get a little belligerent with Dad and claim he'd been sleeping around on her. We didn't stay long those days; Mum would stay with her and calm her down after Dad and I left. But most of the time, she'd tell me about something Dad did when he was a kid. Usually, she was quite kind to me.

I think how he and Mum treated his mother showed me how I should treat them.

Families span generations, quite nicely.

So this is a sex forum. Lets take that a read.

What other subjects do you find cross generational gaps with the people you talk to here?
I'd like to hear about the generaltional gap regarding sex. How do you "take it as read?" What is it that is so clear to everyone?

You've not been on enough overnight trains ;).
I’ve not been on any, hun.

Oh? Not on a train? Oh, honey. I had a girlfriend 40 years ago who bought us round-trip tickets Atlanta-New Orleans for the express purpose thereof. And then there's my current squeeze. We've been cross-country four or five times, and certainly enjoyed our moments on each!

There was one time we had fun, and the following morning in the dining car, where they seat you with strangers (four to a table, always), the porter tried to seat a young lady with us and she refused after staring daggers at us. She was in the next roomette to ours and overheard our... well... you know. Partitions were a lot thinner than we thought.

😁

Men wrote those laws, and I doubt God told me anything like that. Yes, I know, it's a man's world. Fucking men, no thank you, I'll stick to other women.

Do you like to use a vibrator with women, Millie? What about watching erotic images on a computer screen? If you do enjoy these things, you might be a Robosexual!

It’s ok if you are. I have similar perversions myself. Relax. :D

OK, I know that music was mentioned, but I'm going to throw out the Beatles particularly as an interest that spans generations. The fact that they keep being celebrated year after year, over 50 years after their breakup, seems to me proof enough of that.

Lips, tongues, fingers, noses, that's all Jo and I require to have fun. No dicks, no dick like objects. If we use vibrators, they're eggs or grinders not prick like objects.

Ok, well, we didn’t need to differentiate between vibrator models. I’m not even sure what you mean by a “grinder”. But we are both attracted to machines, right? Including flesh ones?

I hope you recognize I’m just joking around here and have no malicious intentions. I’ll shut up if you’re more comfortable with that. Thx for the entertainment, fellow human. ;)

The Beatles are definitely a great band. I have enjoyed their work in the films Across the Universe and Yesterday, both of which were produced after members of the group passed from this world.

Spectator sports. My hubby and I love going to watch our local non-league football team (soccer if you must). Non-league is much more family orientated than the professional leagues. I really enjoy seeing whole families - grandparents, parents, kids, all in the team's shirts. It's a real family event with kids allowed in free and even dogs admitted, many in their little team coats. Today we'll be watching the men, tomorrow the women.

Food, cooking, drinks. Though Lays potato chips are Walkers Crisps in the UK.

Grandkids getting baking advice from Grandma is great.

Chess and other board and card games, too.

I think that might be a niche one, hun 😊.

I am going to make a blanket statement (read: guess) that isn't backed up by any statistical data whatsoever, but I'd be willing to bet at least 50% of men find trains to be at a minimum " interesting ". Giant machinery in general is something that appeals to a lot of men, and probably a few women as well, across multiple generations. Especially in the right aesthetic setting.

Agree about men and trains. There's just something about them. I had an HO model train layout as a kid. It's fun to be on a train. Trains are great in movies. They're also cross-generational, and the style of a train can be indicative of a particular era or place.
