So after a year and half of Biolage it up and quit on me. Nasty stuff gooked in my hair. You know how it goes when the shampoo just finally gets all the build up it can handle and your hair looks filthy even after you just washed it.

I had all of this I could handle today so I went to the salon on campus (new advent) and nearly broke down crying on the floor. They have mirrors and my hair looked nasty. It smelled great, but it looked like I hadn't washed in months.

The lovely lady in the salon was bored and had the perfect solution. They have a shampoo they use to strip hair clean before applying perms and color. She washed my hair and conditioned it. She felt sorry enough for me to go ahead and style it while she was at it. With my hair floating around me like the gorgeous stuff it is, I bought some new shampoo.

I've been happy all day.

:)

Ice cream is an instant anti-depressant para mi!

Hi KM! If you'd like an over the counter fix, try Neutrogena shampoo. It is excellent for removing product build up. I wouldn't use it more than once a week or so, it is a bit harsh.

Have you tried Aveda's Shampure and Shampure Conditioner? It's hair product of the gods. I spent the first 25 years of my life living with mediocre hair, and then I found Aveda.

I need a 'spa day'.

Maybe I'll do that Saturday. Thanks for the idea muff. You rule.

You know, I never get buildup. I don't use any products in my hair but shampoo and conditioner though. No gel, mousse, hair spray, etc.

One of the best things about being a woman is that the right lipstick and a good hair day can make our week.

An excellent way to strip hair of that build up is by using Paul Mitchell #3 once a week. That way you can continue enjoying your regular shampoo without having to switch up.

where do you get this stuff Olivanna?

Some hair salons carry it. Aveda also has some chain stores in posh malls (like Copley Square, Boston, and in Paramus, NJ). I get mine from a local salon. At $10 a pop, it isn't cheap, but then the benefits for me far exceed the cost. I just pair the conditioner with a Joe Shmo shampoo and voila. Especially worthwhile if you've got curly-ish, frizzable, long, thick hair. Maybe check out the website: aveda

Go here..

http://www.aveda.com/

There is a salon here that carries it, so I am sure they are everywhere. Look in your phone book for a salon that has the name advertised....

I love their products, but only use a few.

You beat me, you

What she said here is so utterly true Siren, and you have thick hair, right? It would prolly be perfect for you.
