Love kids, just hate to travel  :rose:

Maybe the ole "let's play a game kids call naptime!" trick. Never worked for me, but we reaching for straws here.

:)
lol 5 and 7 yrs old...need i say more?

I ended up sleeping off and on all day yesterday, called off of work cuz I felt like shit, slept off and on until about 10 pm, then got up until 5, slept from 5 until just a few minutes ago ... sinus headache still intact, but at least I'm no longer light headed.

I've heard a bit of childrens' benadryl will knock the angels out.
lol the kids doc told me to do that once. we were all sick as hell and i took them to the doc. before we left with scripts for anibiotics for them he looked at me and said.... give em benadryl tonight so mommy can rest.

I just woke up after being up all night. I think I slept about 4 hours or so. Feel a bit crappy now.

RJ, thanks for the tip aobut the sinus headache shower treatment. Autumn is coming, and my sinuses bother me a lot that time of year (although I love the fall anyway), so I'll keep that in mind.

Feels betrayed and so dirty.

::points at SD::

A sleeper!

Sorry to hear you still have the sinus headache. Recommend long hot steamy bath or shower to let the steam work its magic.

Glad you got some sleep.:)

I told you at the beginning that once I quit working days I'd start sleeping ... it's only at night that I don't sleep. During the day, no problem.

As for the shower - I usually do that and feel better, but the other night I work up for work, had a sinus headache, decided to take a shower ... After the shower, not only did I still have the headache, but I was light-headed and nauseated to boot :( I called off work - can't really afford to, but we also can't afford for me to have an accident during my commute, or pass out at work and have to go to the ER.

I don't really qualify to post here, since I don't have a problem sleeping, usually, but I am sorry to hear that you're feeling so awful. Sinus headaches are nasty, horrible things.

day three topped off with a migraine...i jinxed myself by posting my guarenteed cure on another thread lol (after day two you get to deal with the typos )

Sensible.

Can you believe I have still not slept yet. I thought I would get to today, but my client called and gave me a list of things they needed done by close of business today.

I mean it, when I crash this time, I am gonna crash so hard.

I hope that you do get some good sleep ... and on a positive note, I (and the rest of the employees of the hospital that I work at) randomly got a bonus ... that more than makes up for the 12 hours of work that I missed from being sick the other night :D

... And I actually hope that all of you get some sleep. I'm finally getting some, and it's wonderful ... I'd like to share the feeling.

Well, it's 12:00, I'm awake and bored. Woo hoo. No sign of sleep on the horizon.

It's 2 fucking 30, I woke myself up coughing and can't get back to sleep. Just shoot me, someone..

awww *passes snowy some halls* that's kinda why I'm up ... I've been doing a 'sleep 2 or 3 hours, be up for 8-10' cycle for a few days now (basically since I got off work at 8am on Tues morning) ... and I spent 20 hours straight awake at one point in there.

I hope you get to feeling better soon

As others have mentioned, I'm not so much insomniac as nocturnal. In my case, it is assuredly not at all genetic because my entire family does indeed follow the whole in-bed-by-ten-up-by-six routine. My mother even jokes that she adopted me from a family of vampires.

I used to be both insomniac and nocturnal, but for the past 3 years I have been on medication which allows me at least a few decent hours worth of rest (providing my mind becomes tired enough to accept its effectiveness.) I don't recommend this as a solution for the other posters, because such pills can and do become disturbingly addictive.

When this "mild tranqualizer" first came on the market here, it was told to me by my physician that it was non-habit forming and could be taken for prolonged periods of time. Approx a year later, there became much controversy over it and it was suddenly considered to be quite addictive. My Doctor immediately tried to take me off them, but it was already too late.

I hate pills. I can't stand the fact that every night more and more of these harmful chemicals are being ingested simply because I feel I can't function as a human being without them.
