Hubby has a nice laptop provided from work. Hubby got me in the habit of using it, so I more or less took it over, and stoped using the dinosaur.

I wiggled it around to much, and now the peice where you plug in the power hook up is broke. And, they have to send it in to gateway to fix.


It's going to be like 6-12 weeks, yes WEEKS, before we get it back.

Plus, it's supposed to be a 'hardly' used laptop, not a daily used, never shut down, used for everything lap top.


His bosses are going to be happy in the way that's really not.

Oops. Bad Gilly! I have had the same problem with 2 laptops now. But it's never really the spot on the back of the computer itself, but the plugs that keep coming loose. It's a real pain in the ass. Sorry for the inconvenience! Smoooooooooooooooochies and here's to your hubby's boss not being too angry!

Well, he just talked with the techie at work, and the techie is going to try and fix it himself first, but if he's right about what's wrong, it will need to be sent in. However, he's going to put a rush on it, and have it back in a week.


Now, I need to transfer shit from it, and use the dinaosaur from now on, I think. bad bad gilly.

Likely it's going to be fine. The tech's don't have my password here at the job, and frankly, they don't need any of them to test the power connectivity, and gateway couldn't care less if we're at lit. All my software on that thing is either freeware/legal shareware/or gotten through my workplace liscencing. I just hate the prospect of being down our main laptop for a week.

Whenever I have sent my laptop in for repair, I have removed all removable parts- hard drive, battery, memory. With the HD gone, there is no risk of their finding anything you wouldn't want them to find, and it is a good policy anyway- less loss if the thing gets lost in shippment.
