Is it true that when Americans talk about pie they are talking about sweet fruit pie only?

Where I come from most of the time if we talk about pie we are talking about meat pies but I heard that in USA meat pies is a lost art?

I make wonderful pies! I'd love to bake pies for you Shiny Shine:rose:. I can make awesome bacon and egg pies but my best is lamb, kumara (sweet potato) and mint gravy.

I can't speak for All Americans, but I know my Gran used to make a killer Zucchini Cheese Pie. Most people would refer to it as a tart, but a pie would be a good name for it too.

I'm sure some people make meat pies, but no one I know. Also that sounds gross lol.

And I'm not sure how you don't know this, but I don't eat meat. So that doesn't sound too appealing to me. I do like sweet potatoes tho.

Oh yea lol, I did know that, I just forgetted. Well I can make a real nice smoked fish pie too. You would love that:D

I'm on the fence about smoked fish. Some of it is great, others not so much.
