The Narrows by Michael Connelly. Super book.

I love Michael Connelly. i just finished The Poet and A Darkness More Than Night.
both Fabulous!!!! I also just finished listening to his book on tape where he meets Madeline.

What are you thinking right NOW?

I need to take a shower.

What was the last thing you ate?

Grapes.

What book are you currently reading?

Lonely Planet Guide to Australia.

Why are you here?

It's like the neighborhood coffee shop where all the porn writers hang out.

What's your latest story about?

It's all been poetry lately. The most recent is an erotic little seduction; the other most recent one is about something learned during a dance.

Are you working on a new story?

Yes, slowly. A neglected wife meets a gentleman online who has a big nipple fetish. Fetish, not Loving Wives. I'm stuck because I think the gentleman online is actually her husband and I haven't figured out why yet.

If you could, would you?

Yes. Any ideas?

Then you'll love The Narrows. It's a sorta sequel to The Poet. I've read all his stuff and can't ever wait for the next one.

Sorry for threadjack, Lou. At least we weren't discussing sex.
:D

Hey, it's very cool by me!

I actually wanted to start up a booky/reading/writing thread, but didn't want to just say: What book are you reading? I decided to arse about a bit, too.

So, I'm glad it's gone the way it has. :D

I'm reading Complicity by Ian Banks (who also writes sci-fi as Ian M Banks), and it's quite literally blowing me away. I'm loving the way it's written - most of it in first person present tense, interspersed with chunks of second person present tense. Sounds odd, but it works! It works bloody well. As well as being very sexy in places, with brilliant characters and an intriguing plot, it's a very good commentary on contemporary British life. It's cool.

That it's amazing that Ducky mentioned the only Stephen King book I like and that someone else mentioned Sharon McCrumb and I didn't even know she had a new ballad book out!
I don't think she has any new ones out. Ghost Rider was the last from last year sometime. She is one of my favorite authors.

Have you tried reading Whit? It's by Iain Banks (subtitled 'Isis Among The Unsaved') and is truly spectacular just for the idea it's based on.

Iain Banks kicks ass! I have never read Complicity, because it was sold out when I tried to buy it, but I saw the BBC film. I can tell you that The Wasp Factory, Whit, and The Crow Road are some of my all-time favourite books, though. :D

Non-lit - editing novel

Yes - 2 for Lit, new novel idea that I'm trying not to start until I finish editing current project
