I received my first official inheritance money the other day from my Granny, who died last summer. She gave each grandchild $1000. I wondered what to do with the money and did not want to spend it frivolously. I also did not want to just spend it paying off bills.
I went out today and bought two pairs of diamond/white gold earrings. I have double pierced ears and thought that having a larger pair of diamonds and a smaller pair would look nice as well as actually being a meaningful purchase. This way I can always remember that the earrings came from Granny and be able to pass them down to my daughter when it is time.
I still have some money left and I am debating about what to do with it.
The only other thing I ever got as an inheritance was a very old china cabinet that came from my paternal grandmother's house. It is in my dining room filled with crystal glasses and china.
Have you ever received an inheritance? What did you do with it?
