Is it possible to include an image with a story? As, say, a sort of cover.

What exactly are you asking? There is an Illustrated category that consists of stories with visual images. You might check out that category, look at the stories, and see if your question is answered.

If you want a cover image, perhaps you could create a series (even with just the one story), and use the cover image option from there?

I think that tossing every story into a series wrapper, even if the story is a standalone, would let me do what I want. I don't think I want to throw my work into the illustrated category rather than say, romance, sci-fi/fantasy, or other categories that are more descriptive of content.

Thank you.

I think it would be a nice feature. Some other story sites let you do it, but I probably shouldn't mention the competition here.

Yeah, but they don't have a thumbnail of the image, so it is visible like at the sales site. So you lose what the cover image is for, to entice readers to take a chance at work. The internal image would be nice, though; an external one would be better. We can only hope.

The only caution I would give is to make sure the picture an original work or is in the public domain. The reason is in the EU, the site owners are liable if they are discovered to have published a copyrighted image. I don't know if that extends to sites based in the US or not, but if you read the submission guidelines, it plainly states :

"Like all other submissions on Literotica, images must be your original work which you own the copyright to. For example, photographs that you yourself took, or paintings or drawings that you yourself created. Please do not submit photos or other images you have found online, or that you do not own the rights to."

Good point! At the other site, I always use an image that I generated with a free AI program. That way I know it will show what I want to show, and will not be copyrighted.
