I agree on all counts, did the theater you were in go nuts at the? The flick was so intense my girl actually started crying.

Hollywood pulled off a GOOD movie that had something more than just a billion dollar explosion budget, I'm fucking shocked. If they keep this up Michael Bay is a goner......LOL common there are plenty of high functioning retards to keep him making baysplosion films for years.

People moaned at the ending, which I thought was fine....I see sequel in the future....the movie is crushing at the box office

God I hope not, hollywood wont let good movies die honorable death's. They make bad sequel's untill the image of th original is destroyed.

After watching Inception I reflected: I have never seen a realistic dream sequence on the screen, ever. By "realistic," I mean, "like a real dream." All dream sequences I've ever seen filmed, however bizarre, are unrealistic in that they are too realistic, i.e., too much like real waking life. Things don't "just happen," the narrative thread is continuous, effect follows cause, two and two make four, the environment stays more or less the same from one moment to the next (or, when it does not, the change is remarkable and has some actual plot-related significance), and the known laws of physics are, at least, the default setting. Dreams, at least in my experience, are nothing like that. Dreams are rooted in reality in the sense that they are drawn from your memories, and a person who has never seen or heard of an elephant will never dream of one; but the memories seem to be all thrown in sack and grabbed at random and mixed together at random. You might be having a conversation with your mother, who in the next moment is George Washington, and you do not notice, you assume you were really talking all along to Washington, who is now Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, or, rather, three of them, which would not be so bad if it ever rained any more, Hildegard!, and so on, and even this description paints too coherent a picture. True, while dreaming you always seem to assume that you are experiencing real waking life -- but not because it resembles waking life; only because the faculties by which you might tell the difference are suspended. Could a dream-sequence anything like a real dream actually be done? Or is it beyond any writer's or director's creative power?

Whether it would be worth doing is another question. People go to a movie to see a story. A dream is not a story, and if you want what it is, you might as well stay home and take a nap.
 
I've heard a number of people comment that the dream sequences were too much like reality in Inception. That was the point. The dreams were engineered to seem as close to reality as possible, so that the person dreaming wouldn't realize it was a dream. The crazier things get in a dream the more your rational mind starts going "there something not right here." The dreams in Inception were just engineered illusions used to achieve a goal.
 
the movie bored me immensely and I was quite willing to walk out on it, but i stayed.
Thou, there was one quote that stuck with me, and it was when the asian guy said - "their dreams where real and the “real” world was a dream to them, and who had the right to tell them otherwise. ...

Overrated movie, Leo was not convincing enough, and the plot was too busy to engage. At first glance it gives the impression of something clever, but as the movie goes along, it becomes clear it's just a bunch of incoherent drivel.
