He'd rather quote someone else he thinks is smarter, and then point at that quote and say, "I understand it because I'm smart like the person I quoted; you are too stupid to understand us."
This type of arguing saves him from actually forming a logical argument. It's the textual equivalent of flinging poo.![]()

"Better to be on your back looking skyward than on a cloud (with the crowd) looking down."
I wonder how long the honeymoon between the media (mostly on the left) and Obama will last? I know he's very smart, but in many ways he's a child of the media after they built him up before his 2004 keynote speech..

So far, Obama and his team have been adept at using the media to their advantage, while minimizing the negatives, or dealing with them swiftly. They don't call him "No-Drama" for nothing.
I love it. These are the people who used to sneer at me; "If you don't like the way America is, then leave." I didn't leave, I changed it.I envision quite a bit of foot stomping and arms crossed, too.
"If I can't get my way then I'm taking my ball and I'm going home!"

I've already been in the position to ask someone when they were buying their ticket out, and where would they want to go. It felt gooood. I enjoy these petty acts.
Meanwhile, Obama is talking the talk, supporting Roe V. Wade on it's anniversary That's some plain speaking there.
Thank you, Mr. President.![]()
Thank you, indeed.
Here's the text from your link. It should be posted.
Statement of President Obama on the 36th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
On the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we are reminded that this decision not only protects women's health and reproductive freedom, but stands for a broader principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters. I remain committed to protecting a woman's right to choose.
While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue, no matter what our views, we are united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce the need for abortion, and support women and families in the choices they make. To accomplish these goals, we must work to find common ground to expand access to affordable contraception, accurate health information, and preventative services.
On this anniversary, we must also recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights and opportunities as our sons: the chance to attain a world-class education; to have fulfilling careers in any industry; to be treated fairly and paid equally for their work; and to have no limits on their dreams. That is what I want for women everywhere.
That's the way to celebrate 45 -48 million murdered babies on the anniversary of what allows those murders.
I liked the 150,000+ that marched to support life.
Because it's not an easy decision to make. The important thing is that women can make that decision and that their suffering for it is minimal. The "choice" is obvious:
Life or Death.
If abortion is so wonderful why do around 70% of the women having one require psycological counciling?
Much as we may feel and act as individuals, our race is a single organism, always growing and branching--which must be pruned regularly to be healthy. This necessity need not be argued; anyone with eyes can see that any organism which grows without limit always dies within its own poisons. The only rational question is whether pruning is best done before or after birth. Being an incurable sentimentalist I favor the former of these methods--killing makes me queasy, even when it’s a case of “He’s dead and I’m alive and that’s the way I wanted it to be.” But this may be a matter of taste. Some shamans think that it is better to be killed in a war, or to die in childbirth, or to starve in misery, than never to have lived at all. They may be right. But I don’t have to like it--and I don’t.
