Also, on the BBC coverage they said that the minister who spoke at the beginning was chosen by Obama and that he was a prominent anti-everything minister. Does that signify anything, that he spoke at this event?

I think Rick Warren is a little right-wing weasel, but I had expected that, being head of a megachurch in Orange County, he'd actually be used to speaking before crowds. He was embarrassingly bad.

The irony of this is that Obama has said time and again that he has no plans to change access to firearms. I guess when people are nourished by conspiracy theories they are also susceptible to conspiracy theories.

What we roll our eyes at is fads and vogue ideas that have nuthin much to recommend them except the Usual Suspects enthusiasm for novelty. Ninety-nine new ideas out of 100 are kewl and wrong.

Its no big mystery as to how we got where we are. Obama himself said there's plenty of blame for everyone. We all contributed turdies to make this shit sandwich. What remains to be decided is who gets to eat it.

Conservatives dont think Obama will make Wall Street or the banks or Detroit or the unions or the elites take a big bite. Its like AMERICAN IDOL. Reuben won but Clay sells all the records. She's very concerned about how Sasha will feel in her new bedroom and if she'll have a place to keep all her toys.

On the Obama website he listed cell phone texting numbers. He encouraged people to text for a variety of reasons.

I gave those numbers to students, allowed them use of cell phones, and we happily texted for hours.

We got replies, too, and there was much excitement.

They feel informed, empowered. They're paying attention.

The old guard will soon be swept away.
