Most of the above media personalities share the same operational bias as their leftist colleagues at the ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and others. Controversy sells. "If it bleeds, it leads." If they're not screaming, their viewers and listeners aren't screaming and if the viewers and listeners aren't screaming, they're changing channels. In many instances, I question how deep their ideology really runs.

As for the usual suspects that populate the Literotica right wing, I cannot condemn K-bear, Vette, Ish, AJ, KK, and most others as consistently displaying credentials that would qualify them for membership in any category described as a "lunatic fringe." Neither mainstream conservatism or liberalism is "fringe." Fringe is further out.

I am sure they have been guilty of specific statements with which I would heartily disagree, but I believe most of our characterizations of each other here tend to hinge on more personally targeted invectives than on socially poisonous positions. I've been guilty of the same judgments.

And then, there's BB.

I tend to believe there's more shtick than starch in some of his rants, but it cannot be denied that his very worst and most outrageous beliefs live at the political fringe. But on those occasions when he displays intelligence and rationality, I’ll continue to engage him. I suppose even PETA can be “right” some of the time.

So go ahead and let me have it. Pussy. Apologist. Blah, blah, blah. It's not like I haven't heard it before.

the US Naval Academy Color Guard made an appearance at the World Series. The day before their appearance, two Midshipmen were removed from the Color Guard by senior NA commanders. The reason?

They were white males.

No one is even denying that's the reason they were pulled off the guard; the NA just wanted to project more "diversity." Our military is more obsessed with "diversity" than it is with winning wars, honoring and rewarding excellence ...


or even with protecting our soldiers from crazed Islamist radicals.
 
Again, I prefer to call out kooky "conservative" ideas rather than people.


1. Trickle down economics. It's failed every time. Human nature is to hoard, not trickle down.

2. Lack of all regulations. This is what caused the financial meltdown. The Financial Services Modernization Act, aka: do whatever you want, banks.
Same with deregulation of the energy sector brought us ENRON. It happened before with the S+L crisis. Obviously there needs to be a delicate balance, not too many regs to strangle business, but enough to reign in negligent behavior.

3. Nation building. We have enough of our own unsolved problems without taking on the rest of the world's.

4. Again deregulation. This time specifically of firearms. Crazy people should be excluded from buying them. This is not a ban, this is common sense.

5. War on drugs. The only place conservatives want massive regulation and Government control. Hypocritical, much?

6. Free trade. Makes it impossible for American companies to compete with subsidized overseas companies who's nations tariff our imports to them. But we aren't allowed to tariff their exports to us. Extremely unlevel playing field. Trade deficits are the obvious result.

7. I was going to say budget deficit spending, but in reality both conservatives and liberals are guilt of this. However, the very definition of "conservative" makes this their issue. Liberals are expected to. When conservatives do it, (always), it goes against their core principles.
