In/Out Board

I'm baaaaaaaaaaack . . .

And now to begin a two week diet of salads, lean meat and sugarless soda. We boarded as passengers and disembarked as cargo after eating our way across the Netherlands to Belgium. BTW, the Belgian boast that they make the original and still the best fries in the world is true. They did and they are. burp.

Welcome home, Sir Oinks A Lot.

Welcome back Bear, we'll have to double stuff your leaf pile for a while.

Was out, briefly came back, will be out again. (I'm working on a game, nonsexual in nature, so I'm hanging out on rpgmaker.net until I've finished it.)

I'm away for two weeks in North Wales, the first two-week holiday in 25 years, and the first without children/grandchildren for 37 years!

My wife retired on a Friday and we started looking after the granddaughter on the Monday. Now we look after 16 month-old grandson and 5-year-old granddaughter (after school) for eight part days a fortnight, sometimes long days.

The first couple of days away we are just going to slob around doing nothing much. That will set us up for the rest of the holiday.

On the way back we are visiting our youngest daughter's in-laws whom we haven't seen since the wedding because they live two hours from London in one direction and we live two hours away in another direction. There isn't room in the London flat to have two sets of parents visiting at once. Daughter, husband and 2 month-old granddaughter will also be there.

I hope that Nude Day stories are being written/edited. :D

I came back from North Wales. You might have noticed.

But this evening I'm going away again, first to Birmingham for a conference and then to Warwickshire.

I might have limited internet access in Warwickshire from Saturday evening, but not during the conference. We'll be too busy.

I should be back in the AH on Sunday 15th.

Don't do anything that might frighten the horses!

I'm back, not that I've really been away from Literotica. The internet access on the farm in Warwickshire was excellent.

While I was away, my home town was deluged with rain. The tomatoes, and the weeds  have gone mad in just a week.

I am coming to wonder where in the world the internet connections aren't available. We're seventy-two miles north of Sioux Lookout (find that on Googlemap) and we still have wifi. It's slow, but it works. Perhaps if one journeyed well up the Amazon . . .

The CBC always had a transmitter at Sioux Lookout; I would expect they'd also use the tower for microwave transmissions now. I haven't been in the area since the 1970s, but I imagine it hasn't changed much.

There are areas in the UK where internet access is so slow that one or two simultaneous users in a community can bring it to a halt. There are solutions, but they are expensive.

There are areas where mobile (cell) phone coverage is non-existent. On holiday in Yorkshire a couple of years ago my car broke down in a no-signal village. I had to climb the hill in the pouring rain and stand in a graveyard to call the Automobile Association.

They said "We'll call you back when the van is on its way."

I replied "You can't. If I'm by my car there is no signal."

Their response "Where did you say you are? Oh. There. You're right. We can't call you there. Our vans vanish from the tracker signal in that area."

On holiday in N Wales in May there was no internet access in the cottage. I could have gone into the nearest town to use WiFi in a pub or restaurant but I was on holiday, so I didn't bother.

I'll be in salt water and swamp country for a bit (not quite yet— but it's coming up shortly and I'll put this up whilst I remember to do so). Lots and lots of surf, Spanish moss, bald cypress, trails to run, hike and bike, kites to fly, birds to watch, and Hornets to see and hear— but, thankfully, no internet.

I decided today that the site isn't really doing anything for me so, bye bye. Take care. Have fun.

What's the damn weather supposed to be Saturday, Sunday and Monday on Long Island Sound and the Atlantic? Guy tells me he's seen a forecast for seas of 5-ish feet with wind out of the north at 15 knots, falling to 10. Does he really believe NOAA is that good? I sure as hell don't.

If the weather cooperates, I'll be coming down the East River on Sunday. I'll give a wave to you folk on Manhattan.
