Twelve months ago today, 12 October... 202 innocent people were killed as the result of terrorist bombs in Bali.

Most of them were holiday makers, sitting in a bar enjoying themselves. Some were locals, going about their daily chores.

Cars, buildings and houses were destroyed. Tourism to Bali dropped so dramatically as a result of the bombing, that many businesses were forced to close.

Please spare a moment today to reflect on all that has happened and to offer a small prayer for the families and loved ones of those listed below...

LB yes this is a very sad day for so many australian families.... my prayers and thoughts go out to all families involved in this atrocity....

Hard to beleive its already been a year since this tragedy occured. I feel the same now as I did then. I really can't beleive this has happened, and cost so many lives, Balinese, Australian, British and those of many other nationalities.

It s a sad, sad day for all Australians, however, for what is an un-equalled tragedy in our history we've seen so many stories of courage, determination and hope that at least we can take something positive away from it all.

So many inocent lives totally wasted by some stupid religious fanatics... :(

People say they can't understand why I belive in god (I've had near death out of body experiences) yet refuse to see the point of any religion with the history of the world some of the greatest horrors have been in the name of religion.

PLEASE also hold the survivors of the Bali blast in your thoughts as they continue to battle with their recovery too.

R.I.P. to the souls of all lost in this senseless act.

A special thankyou to LADYBIRD for this thread.

My thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of those families.... :rose: :rose: :rose:

My thoughts and prayers go out to each of the families! (This is bizarre, because I am wearing a T shirt right now that I bought while staying at the Grand Hyatt Hotel--Bali!)

Bali has been a favourite holiday destination of many Aussies, myself included. Anyone of us could have been sitting at the Sari Club when the bombs went off.

My heart also goes out to the many Balinese people who were affected, not just by the bomb blast, but by the downturn in trade caused by fewer tourists.

Balinese people are generally very poor, and rely on tourism. Many of them will have suffered and possibly died in the aftermath of this terrible event.

Such a waste of human life, and so much suffering.

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.

My thoughts and well wishes go out to all who were affected by such stupidity on behalf of those terrorists the deceased and the precious ones who are still here with us thank god....

In my thoughts and in my prayers,

The families left behind, but never forgotten.

My thoughts and prayers to those who lost loved ones in the Bali bombing. Lots of my Aussie friends from HK used to go there often. They were planning a reunion and luckily plans fell thru!

Bali is such a beautiful place and the Balinese are such friendly people and to have such a tragedy happen on their doorstep is just so sad!

Tks LB for startingt this thoughtful thread.

:rose: in memory of those who died :rose:

The Aussie TV networks have dedicated a lot of time to our ppl who have been affected by this horrid disaster & seeing the pics of wonderful young ppl whose lives were gut way to short as were so many in NY with little mention of why these religious zealots choose to enforce their beliefs on all with out thought of who they kill, then wonder why their religion is getting such hatred from everyday ppl of the world.

My question is why can't they get on with their life with out having to try to force it on everyone in the world? If you don't like our religion,way of life,etc etc have nothing to do with us & stop the senseless killing.

In Noember in Sydney we are having a LIT social meeting & I'll ask anyone who wants to visit the memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives in Bali.

My plea to the world is if you don't like some one, their beliefs, way of life etc etc just leave them to it as long as they are not causing physical or mental hurt to anyone just walk away, you will be a better person for it.

To everyone, as someone who has visited many of the countries that are involved in this, please understand one thing.

Not all the people of any one country believe in the violence. As someone has said before, they are taking a kind and gentle religion and bastardizing it. Much as was done in the Inquistion and the Witch Trials of Salem.

Some of these people are raised with teaching that certain other religions, countries, cultures, are the reason for all the problems in their lives. That others are to blame for everything from a lack of basic necessities, to the reason that the phones don't work.

Please understand that I am not excusing the behavior, just trying to maybe help some understand the why of it.

OH I do understand the difference between the NORMAL muslims & these ZEALOTS & even know some of the NORMAL one in R/L & they are kind caring ppl who know have to fear being victims of revenge crimes simply because of their wearing their garb of their chosen religion, I was saying to ALL forget the bias against anyone for religion,race etc.

PEACE IS THE ONLY ANSWER

I am 100% in agreement with you there on forgetting all the bias.
